Are PowerStop Z-36 Brakes for a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon better than stock?

I’ve had my eye on the power stop brakes pad and rotor kit for quite some time, and when my good friend Ryan mentioned that he needed to change his brakes, I immediately recommended the Z36 kit.

Great video. Real world science is good enough to extrapolate the braking increases. I just bought these for my 90 YJ restoration. Entire new braki g system. Booster, resevoir, hard lines, soft lines and e-brake assembly. I can't wait to drive it. Lol Thanks again guys. God bless.

Great video. Was surprised at how much brakeier the Jeep is now. Love that you gave a tip on how to push the caliper back with a c clamp (they make a tool specifically for that. Which you may borrow anytime you want to leave a valid identification and deposit).

My lady got this kit and we're not happy with the initial bite . Once heated they work better than stock but driving in south FL and having the usual butthead cut in front of you to exit highway ramps, you need that initial bite to be strong.

I've had the kit in my garage since last fall. I need to find time to install them on my Escalade.

After I almost T-boned someone who pulled in front of me, I put these on my 2011 Chrysler Minivan (Z36 front and Z23 back). Even though I was able to (barely) stop, having an extra 5 feet or so would have been nice. Nice video.

I bought the Mopar Big Brake Kit (Dual Piston, and Larger Master Cylinder)... If your running bigger tires... Any Brake Upgrade is worth every Penny! 👍

Let's do see how much better it gets with the calipers upgraded!

Had these. Z36 extreme kit. Left front rotor developer a nasty set of grooves. Powerstop only covers cracking. In less than 3k miles I am not happy with there products and will never use them again.

Thanks for this. I am planning on going with Dynatrac pro grips. I used power stops on my ‘97 Chevy pickup with no issues.

I have been told not to get drilled and slotted rotors if off-roading. Something to do with mud and dirt getting caught in the rotors.

Would definitely be a great upgrade from my stock 2005 tj brake

Slot and holes are for the heat management.. cooling the rotor not for dust ..

I'm not sure I can get this excited about the amazing six foot difference ? If I was racing, I would use racing break pads . I think the holes and grooves are for out-gassing .(gas being trapped between brake pad and rotor face .

Just ordered them for my Ram 2500
4/4 HEMI

Looking to upgrade my brakes in my 2019 JL Sport S. Considering Power Stop. Trying to decide between the drilled/slotted rotors and the solid rotors. It is a daily driver and I tow a 1900lb trailer (2000lb max rating) several times each summer.
