This was 6 years ago. I bet that bird is the CEO of several major companies.

I was looking out my office window one day when I noticed a raven sliding down a snow covered roof. I couldn't quite see what he was doing so I took out of a pair of binoculars I keep in my desk. To my utter astonishment, I can only describe what he was doing as snowboarding. He found a lid from a can of Pringles and was repeatedly sliding down the roof. When he got to the bottom he'd pick the lid up and fly to the top, hop on the lid and slide down. It was crazy, and he was smart enough to know that the lid had to be turned upside down for it to work.

Does this make "bird brain" a compliment now?

I fed a raven twice outside from a window of my working place with bread. from then on, I was followed by a little swarm of ravens when I was on my bike on my way to work.

Some people in this world would actually struggle with that puzzle. This is incredible.

I was walking to school one day and as I was waiting to cross the street a raven landed about 5-6 feet away....when there are as no traffic I started to walk...the raven hopped down off the curb with me and proceeded to cross....when we got to the other side he hopped beck up and stood there staring at me....so I took out a granola bar and shared with it...when it was gone I said "all done buddy" and the thing let out a little squawk turned around and flew not saying it was some higher form of intelligence from an animal...but I thought it was pretty cool

He understands the importance of sticks as tools for increasing the range of grasp and uses the first one to recover the stones and could understand the need to drop these stones in such a way to free a longer stick (better tool). My guess is the bird is good at using certain small objects as basic tools, but the raven seems to be pretty familiar with how the pebbles would aid him, given how he remembered why he was even bothering with them in the first place, leading me to think that he has been trained to tip balances in similar scenarios. never the less, one sharp bird.

I observed crows picking up walnuts from our garden, flying high up and dropping it to the concrete floor. That’s how they break walnuts and eat them

Imagine being stuck in a point and click, and when you come back from a coffee break, there's your pet raven near your keyboard and the game's end credits are rolling

My parents have ravens nesting in a chimney (that is not used) each year. Two years ago they put bits of chicken-fence in the chimney to keep them out (the ravens make a mess) but the ravens just cleared it out and threw the fence in their garden, "eff your fence, this is raven-town".

Now it is just "live and let live" but the ravens still look at us with a "We won and you know it." - look.

I’m fascinated by the intelligence of our avian friends, particularly crows. Just by observing them in the wild they seem to have an awareness of themselves that few other animals could display

That’s amazing. Imagine what these creatures will be like in the future as they continue to evolve and adapt.
