Google I/O is the annual developers conference for the Mountain View-based search giant. In addition to updates on the next version of Android, Google could unveil additional news from its wide-ranging empire, including anything from search, self-driving cars, Android Wear, Chrome OS, Android TV or Nest smart home devices -- just to name a few.

Regarding the question at 3:20:00 regarding permissions in Google M: The speaker DID mention that the new permissions model will be available only with apps written specifically for Google M. This directly implies that app developers will program their apps to adjust as desired and necessary to accommodate the user's wishes. Older apps not specifically coded for Google M's permission model will still request permissions up front. If the user disables permission for a specific feature, if the older app is coded properly, it will fail gracefully indicating something like "access to blah blah blah denied."

The presentation was great and I love everything that was showcased, but one thing I was hoping Google will talk about is; what are they going to do about android's fragmentation. Something has to be done and soon, everyone on the android platform has to be able to enjoy all these great features that was talked about. fragmentation is android's biggest problem.

I love both platforms, truly. Going out to get an LG G4 tomorrow. Have an iPhone 6 plus for work. All I can say is, iOS is more stable. It remains stable throughout the life of the phone, at least in my experience. Every single Android I've owned, especially Samsungs, degrade over time, requiring maintenance and restores. My iPhone 6 plus only glitches and needs a restart every now and then, my Note 4 requires it at least 2-3 times a week.

During the opening sequence, I really wished the Jimmy Jib (?) would stop roving around so much and zooming in randomly. I couldn't focus and actually started getting dizzy. Maybe just stay zoomed out?

Wow can't wait to see what the AppDevs come up with. I am still not on board with Android (or anything else) Wear.. But- very soon I might change my mind!!
