We are still awaiting the final episodes of Rick and Morty season 4. This has been a very DIFFERENT season for the franchise and I think that means something. What? Well Theorists, today that is what I want to dive into! What is going on with Rick? Why has he seemed so different this season and what does that mean for the rest of the episodes? I've got a theory and it's not looking good for old Rick Sanchez...

I think the arc is Morty's independence. He caused a lot of adventures this season. Death crystals are a result of him actively disobeying Rick, dragon was Morty's idea, Morty bought story train at Citadel (dimensional travel without Rick being aware), even time traveling snakes are a result of Morty flying into space on his own.
This season shows that Morty is now well adjusted to Rick's world and way of life and does pretty much the same as his grandpa. Morty uses gadgets on his own, travels between dimensions on his own.
I think one episode will be about Morty's invention. This will be the point Rick will lose control over Morty.
