Final Fantasy X-2 (ファイナルファンタジーX-2 Fainaru Fantajī Ten Tsū) is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square for the PlayStation 2, as the direct sequel to Final Fantasy X. The game's story follows the character Yuna from Final Fantasy X as she seeks to resolve political conflicts in the fictional world of Spira before they lead to war and to search for her lost love Tidus from Final Fantasy X.

Final Fantasy X-2 set several precedents in the Final Fantasy series aside from being the first direct sequel in video game form and the second sequel in the franchise, after the anime Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals. It was the first game in the series to feature only three player characters, an all-female main cast, and early access to most of the game's locations. Additionally, it featured a variation of the character classes system—one of the series' classic gameplay concepts—and is one of the few games in the series to feature multiple endings. Finally, it was the first game in the series that did not have musical contributions in it from longtime composer Nobuo Uematsu.

Premise
-------------
Like the preceding game, Final Fantasy X-2 is set in the fictional world of Spira, consisting of one large landmass divided into three subcontinents, surrounded by small tropical islands. It features diverse climates, ranging from the tropical Besaid and Kilika islands, to the temperate Mi'ihen region, to the frigid Macalania and Mt. Gagazet areas. Although predominantly populated by humans, Spira features a variety of races. Among them are the Al Bhed, a technologically advanced but previously disenfranchised sub-group of humans with distinctive green eyes and unique language. #FinalFantasy #JRPG #Gaming

Thank you for review. Just finished X and thought about playing X-2, but I think I will just pretend that the story ended in X

I was so blown away by X when it came out and when this was released I thought it was an insult to make a girl band idol group cotton candy sequel to X. However, I just have this a try recently, finally, since it is bundled with X in the remaster...it is actually really fun. I guess I’m old enough now that I just don’t care and I like playing dress up with an all girl party. If I did end up getting it back when it came out I probably would have still hated it because I took myself seriously and was insulted by this being the sequel to X which seemed perfect as it was. Now though? Don’t care, it’s a fun time, really excellent battle system and I play dress up with a dragon girl in FFXIV so often that I welcome the chance to do it in a main like FF game now too.

The reasons why FF 10-2 is hated
10-2 is hated cause the story was terrible and made no sense, it's a completely different feel from the first game, and people seem to expect sequels to be exactly the same as the original. That's mainly what it is.

FFX is my favorite game of all time, and I still haven't got around to playing this game. I really need to give it a honest chance.

Honestly, I never wanted a girly pop song flamboyant final fantasy continuation of this game but it grows on you after a while.

Its catchy, the characters are actually decent, mostly silly and light hearted and the story is mostly detached from ffx with some references and fan service.

Looking back on this game all in all, they took a risk on this and it Wasnt too bad. Its got good vibes. Dont be expecting a full on ffx or ff7 to blow your socks off or anything but I think its a good game.

Man I'm old school lol, I played this game on the ps2. I loved this game. Idk why I enjoyed this one more than final fantasy x. To each their own. I enjoyed the girl power, friendship aspect of the game. I liked Yuna, rikku and pain equally. I enjoyed how there were multiple ways that the story could go, based on what you do.

Man this brings back memories. I remember when this game came out, it was like it was out of no where, i wasnt expecting it, I really wasnt expecting the J-pop feel of the game and thought it was a non canon off shoot. I grew to really like it though, I thought the ATB combat was and job system in this game was among the best of the the final fantasy of this time. Fast and flashy.

I am playing it for my girls Yuna and Riku, and Paine is growing on me. I get Aeon Flux vibes from her :)

I want to play just because of the outfit changes, combat and Paine

I mean the game is the way it is story wise due to island people finally being free of a threat that was the indefinite doom of everyone so I kinda appreciate the light heartedness of it all as it shows what this world could be when all is said and done

Am I the only one who's been playing these games calling him Tidus, like Tide-us? Now I'm watching videos and everyone calling him tid-us... Just me? OK, just me...

What happens in the bonus audio makes a lot more sense once you know what happens in the novella. They didn’t “break up”... that’s all I’m gonna say

I remember buying this at launch on PS2 seeing intro, doing the first battle against fake Yuna and turning it off and went back to EB to get a refund no questions asked. Now I have it included with FFX, and I am thinking about giving it a chance but it seems sooo bad

There are rumors of FFX-3 in the making -and the stupid audio thingy they did is supposed to be the prologue for that. Sin revived and Yuna & Tidus have no choice but to bring back the old gang back together and fight the "new new yevon" all over again ... but maybe this time it's gonna be about a complicated love story of getting back together -but probably with a contrasting plot twist, this time Yuna's the one who has to think about it. I think it makes sense. If that happens then it's gonna be another heartbreaking ending just like the original FFX was.

I'm surprised you don't have more subs. Your content is spot on

I was disappointed, . It was nice seeing the old characters but they were just npcs, this time except for of course Yuna and Ricki. Playing the entire game with three characters just wasn't fun.
