How to Setup Microphone on Windows 10 & Test Mic! (Easy Method)

My headset has a microphone, whenever i plug in the headset, the sound comes through the headset but the microphone isn't working, also whenever i go to sound settings the output device doesn't show my headset it only has 'Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio), same goes for my microphone, i only see 'Microphone (Realtek(R) Audio).

My problem is that when I go to the sound settings and try to choose a input device there is only one device. That is the built in microphone. It doesn't detect other microphones

THANK YOU! All of a sudden my mic stopped working and an update caused it to hear my voice feedback. I was so confused. This video showed me that the "Listen" under the mic properties was checkmarked. Unchecked it fixed the problem! 🎉 Thank you again!

Finally a tutorial that I can understand! I have a hobby of making short videos outdoors. It's windy out or say a car goes speeding by while I'm talking on my video. Can I record my voice later after I get home and have downloaded my video so there won't be noise that I don't want? Should I download software for this?
