The Mamiya 7 is the greatest traveling, 6x7, compact, medium format, camera that is exists today. In a whole league of it's own, Mamiya managed to craft a marvel of engineering that is lightweight, quiet, nimble, and most importantly, small without a compromise on image quality. In this review video, we discuss why the camera is so great, share some sample photos from the camera, and ask "is it worth it?"

Check out prints here!

I had a Mamiya 7ii and sold it in 2008. I think about that camera everyday and the images I captured with it. I will own it again one day soon hopefully.

I've had one of these since 1999 along with the 43 and 80 lenses. It's everything you say in this video. I also used to have a Minolta Multiscan 3200 and the prints I got from this combo were glorious. Unfortunate, the Minolta died. At this point I don't know how to get good scans.

Great video.

Wonderful video. You could almost have just shown the photos and people would be just as impressed. Thank you for this wonderful declaration of love to the Mamiya.

Great video bro! I have a Yashica mat 124g myself but goddamn this camera looks so nice and easier too use/carry around. You've definitely convinced me... if i had the funds hahaha keep up the good videos man!

Having an image captured is no.1, then if you can get a camera and lens that gives you a better image in the owners opinion (which will be subjective and variable) will be more satisfying and give better results and encourage more photography, so id say the gear does matter a lot, because how you feel about the image is important, the tonality of mamiya 7 output makes the good photos other worldly / remarkable / soulful ❤

The internal meter on the 7ii is excellent, if it's still calibrated as factory set. I do keep a HH, meter handy, but over the years, I have often been able to just concentrate on the shots and know that my aperture/shutter choice, will be perfectly exposed, thats saying something for someone who, only shoots positives in my 7.

Pro tip: Get a Mamiya 6 and crop. That’s what I do, and I didn’t have to pay an arm and a leg for the same quality! Great video though!

I think only the GF670 beats it in terms of traveling etc, but I’m still tempted to get a Mamiya to swap lenses
