Dude, I know its not the focus of the video but I just wanna say the music in your videos are sick! 🔥That piano track especially is so catchy I literally came back to the video just to listen to it again. Really cool that you made it yourself too, very rare to see that. Awesome stuff! 👏

Very nice review and details. An amazing camera for sure.

There’s also a 50mm(which I have), that is great. The external viewfinder for it has a built in bubble level that is very accurate. You can get handheld with perfectly straight lines(great for documenting unique architecture in smaller buildings etc.
Also just saying, the 80mm is an 39mm equivalent lens, not 40mm. If that matters to anyone. Cheers

very enjoyable video, great to hear your thoughts about this lovely camera. I would like to point out some things which you mentioned - the accuracy of the rangefinder is pretty good, the Leica rangefinders aren´t any better. just be shure to check the allignment of the rangefinder patch, focus to infinitiy and point the camera at an object at infiinity, the rangefinder patch should be perfectly sharp and show good contrast. Mine goes out of allignment pretty easily when the camera gets knocked, but you can recalibrate the rangefinder yourself without special tools, I have already done that several times with great results. The next thing is the focus scale, you mentioned it was desingned "for 90s film / 35mm". depht of field just depends on focal lenght, f-stop and focusing dinstance. Analog, digital, 35mm, large format, its all the same. the focus scale on the mamiya is just as accurate as any other focus scale if you know how to read it. I used it once when my rangefinder went out of allignment during a shoot and i was completely fine, I think i shot at f8 and f11, all pictures came up plenty sharp and with sufficient depht of field.

very informative! I'm from the other side of the bridge. This makes me want to go shoot in Oakland!

I got a 7II two years ago, i've looked at prices lately and they are double what i paid. I barely got a lens for it a few weeks ago so i dont even know if it works lol.

Does the mamiya 7ii and the mamiya 7 give the exact same image quality?
