Garrett versus Precision

This is a short video covering the past failures with Precision turbocharger housings causing massive damage to two well known race cars - burning them to the ground. The purpose of the Video is to educate the public on turbochargers in the market today which are/aren't SFI approved in terms of burst containment - Garrett is the one of the only companies in the world that conduct burst containment testing on ALL their turbochargers, both OEM and Performance. The information in this video was obtained from the public forums and chat groups online - and photographs are of the actual vehicles and the actual precision failure, and not constructed in any way.

Garrett is the bomb. I think I would trust a company who make actually jet engines to make a turbo for a car.

Todd - precisely. Many other turbocharger manufacturers claim to have all the features and specs - when in fact their housings cannot even withstand the most basic test - burst containment.

I'm working on a build, and this video was helpful. After watching the video, I better understand why Garrett is more expensive. I don't know why some many of the top tier engine builders typically don't list Garrett in their offerings.

Precision just sends their trash turbos to big shops and high popularity youtubers for free that way they advertise their garbage for 100 times less money.

How does Garrett compare to Xona Rotor?

It's disappointing someone will buy a new turbo that has had years of development and work put into it and ship it to China to be copied and sold on eBay. Even the cost, proportionally, isn't terribly different for the person buying it. The wild variations of oe configuration of turbos that manufacturers use means basically no matter your requirements there is a Garrett turbo for your application.

3 Garret GT35R failures. Gen 1-3.

They are not made for racing. EFR From now on (until they stop production).

no sorry not entirely true…Garrett gSeries are having many problems (ATM)

Precision turbos are raced and pushed more often! this is why you see this!!

what happened too installation or operator error?

precision has more wins everywhere!

an easy perception of the three would go something like this..PTurbo is a greyhound-built for racing and performance!! where you have the borg and garrett more like a pit bull!!

i’ve compared all and can say the precision can spoil 10-13% better AND make power little easier

in my 20 years of watching and owning big boost cars, ill always go with precision, especially on four and six cylinder engines as these feel the spool benefits more

for hard use street cars, maybe the borg is the one.

This is a pr campaign against prescision. Prescision has way more up to date compressor designs and they are the turbo of choice due to the high cost of the gtxrs garett which is a better quality unit. Its good prescision came, how old was the gt series getting? These new gtxrs are bad ass turbo's. The best.
