You forgot about Flemish people of Belgium and Afrikaans of South Africa. In fact most of the Afrikaans are the direct descendants of the Dutch colonizers.

Mini explanation: The Frisians are an ethnic group indigenous to the coastal regions of the Netherlands, north-western Germany and southern Denmark, and during the Early Middle Ages in the north-western coastal zone of Flanders, Belgium. They inhabit an area known as Frisia and are concentrated in the Dutch provinces of Friesland and Groningen and, in Germany, East Frisia and North Frisia

Though it is impossible to know exact numbers and migration patterns, research has indicated that many Frisians were part of the wave of ethnic groups to colonise areas of present-day England alongside the Angles, Saxons and Jutes, starting from around the fifth century when Frisians arrived along the coastline of Kent.

Frisians principally settled in modern-day Kent, East Anglia, the East Midlands, North East England, [28] and Yorkshire. Across these areas, evidence of their settlement includes place names of Frisian origin, such as Frizinghall in Bradford and Frieston in Lincolnshire.

Similarities in dialect between Great Yarmouth and Friesland have been noted, originating from trade between these areas during the Middle Ages. Frisians are also known to have founded the Freston area of Ipswich.

In Scotland, historians have noted that colonies of Angles and Frisians settled as far north as the River Forth. This corresponds to those areas of Scotland which historically constituted part of Northumbria.

As a Dutch person myself, it's been a question ive asked myself often. I always have to conclude there's no real lineage.
Too many tribes and empires that have ruled over the entire timeline.
So i guess that even though my origins have been written down since the 1650's, im still very much a mingle of a broad spectrum of people that have lived here for 150.000 years+

I think this depends on where you live in the Netherlands, I have noticed that Northern Dutchies have higher percentages of Scandinavian and Southern Dutch like me have more English or Southern European DNA in there. Also German by the way. We are Germanic European after all haha. We should not forget that the French have been in our country and the Spanish and the Romans back in history. The vikings were in Fryslan, so that explains the higher percentage of Scandinavian. The strange thing is that I as 100% Western European DNA have a paternal haplogroup that is more unique in North or Western Europe. The haplogroup is more common in Southern Italy, North Africa or West Asia and then I found that there was an ancient Egyptian with the same haplogroup G. I match my haplogroup with someone from Lebanon.

If a group of people live long enough in a specific region, they tend to develop unique cultural traits, languages, and adaptations that reflect their environment, resources, and social interactions.

Northern Dutch (not Holland) and my DNA is 67% Dutch 17% Scandinavian and 16% English. Eastern Dutch may typically have more German ancestry and Southern most likely more French. Ofcourse it may vary from family to family. Mine has shown to be pretty steadfast as to the place they resided. Pretty much all from Northern provinces.
