When adding battery storage to an existing Solar Pv system which is registered under the Feed-in-Tarriff (FIT) scheme, your energy supplier will request that you replace your generation meter for:
A bidirectional meter means that the meter is capable of measuring energy input and output, and calculating and displaying a net value. It can isolate the amount of electricity generated by the FIT installation ensuring the meter measures only the energy generated from the installation and not energy from the grid.
