My classmate brought her reMarkable 2 in the class today, that's why I'm here.
But after reviewing reMarkable 2 I don't like the Connect subscription service, too expensive.

So can I transfer any Pdf files from my MacBook to this device without the Connect subscription?

Great review, really useful. Was tempted by the device, but the poor synch with OneDrive is a deal breaker for me. It really needs to connect properly to OneDrive or similar so that changes are synched straight away

Thank you for making this review! I didn't know about e ink tablets until a few days ago and I'm so happy I found your channel, I have an ipad and apple pencil that I use for note taking at university but they really don't feel like a notebook replacement for me. I decided on the remarkable just because I only need the most basic functions (a calender and notebook). Do you have any recs for alternative styluses for the remarkable?

Hey

I'm after is a device that can make notes and highlight and annotate on Word docs or pdf docs.

Does remarkable work with word? Or only pdf?

Can I sync with one drive so it automatically syncs any info?

Is there a calendar on the device so I can make notes on that day and future days?

Is this a remarkable product or maybe another brand?

Thanks for all your great videos in the e-ink tablet space. I decided to try the reMarkable after watching a bunch of your videos. I was torn between this one and the Supernote. I opted for reMarkable because they have a 100 day trial / return policy, and I wasn’t really sure what any of these e-ink tablets feel like to use. I’ve had it for a week now. But have to say I’m slightly underwhelmed and wondering if a Supernote would be a better option for me. I don’t want full-on tablet functionality but I plan to use it predominantly for note-taking, DRM-free book reading (with ability to take inline notes), and calendar planning. I think for day-to-day planning it might be easier with at least some apps / additional built-in functionality such as calendar etc.

Nice review, thanks. I have the Remarkable and it generally works well for me, with the obvious (and intended) limitations. Some problems: if you get a phone call and have to start taking notes, it still takes a while to resume operation, select a page (even quick notes) and to start writing, and hard to keep up with notes when there is a lot of fast note-taking, when compared to regular paper notebook. Adding tags feature is a great improvement -- helps you to find your note no matter where you save it. However, best to use in a clean environment. Can't take it out to a dirty jobsite to make notes, even a relatively clean fab shop (lost a pen there once), so still have to keep some paper around. That is where the note-taking feature fails because it's not good to have both a paper notebook with half your notes and the Remarkable with the other half. Still working on improving my use of it.

Have you ever gotten to try the Fujitsu Quaderno A5 gen 2 to compare it to the remarkable 2 as a notebook replacement? I like your reviews and would love to hear your thoughts on that one. It doesn't have the drawing (some of us can't draw anyway), but it's supposed to have a great calender.

So as purely a notebook device, is this still the best one out there in terms of writing feel and sleekness of the device? - All the other ones I've seen have a lot more functionality but the design seems far inferior.

How do you search your notes? find a past note?

Thank you for taking the time to review this. Your review was very helpful. I am looking for a tablet for music while playing with others. It sounds like I can upload a pdf of the sheet music and mark it up as needed. Nice.

Thanks for the video 🙏
I'm just wondering as this would be a really important feature for me, are you able to organise your pages into different folders for different projects as opposed to one universal folder for all pages?

Just sold my Remarkable 2 - I tried but just couldn't get into it. If I want to do digital notetaking I much prefer my ipad pro. I especially love that I can read and take notes on the same screen, use colored highlighting, etc. I also didn't appreciate having to have a monthly subscription to use it - especially with the high price of Remarkable 2. Now, my best friend who is a COO absolutely loves it and keeps it in her purse and uses it constantly.

Hey there, im in sixth form right now and am contemplating buying a remarkable 2 second hand. What price would you recommend to be the most fair to its worth. Thanks.

Great video highlighting Key use cases for the Remarkable. Would you consider sharing/selling your planning templates? Alternately, do you have a tutorial you would recommend to learn to create a planner oneself? Thank you.

The off putting thing for me is the total package for a new remarkable 2 is £557 for the folio and marker 2 pen, and all it does is takes notes! so it would be better to just buy a new ipad 256gb wifi with the £89 apple pencil and it comes to a total of £548 and the ipad does much more, plus the option to expand the storage with icloud. And you can buy “paper like screen protectors”, so im not sure what or who the Remarkable 2 is marketed towards??

The remarkable 2 is a good device. Latency is almost nil and the device is very thin. The Supernote A5X to me is a better option, just wish it was a tad thinner

Why is it so popular? It has a great look and feel, and digital notes sounds like a great concept. However, in the tech company where i work people keep giving them back to IT. Why? I believe it is because the tablet lacks essential digital note taking features so it simply does not add sufficient value to relevant workflows and ends up not being used all that much.

The whole subscription thing just reeks of some arrogant, greedy venture capital guy. Also they charge extra for the stylus. It's like a car dealer selling a car with tires sold separately. No thanks.

I bought a Bigme device, but I like your videos and I had to comment that I really love your handwriting 😁
