Sarah Winters, Founder of Content Design London

In the early 2010s, Sarah Winters (was Richards) and her award-winning content team at the Government Digital Service looked to user-centred design techniques to transform their content. The team used this new approach to set out a system of content design in the UK Government’s content.

After leaving GDS, Sarah took her knowledge and wrote the respected and highly popular Content Design – a book for anyone creating user-centred content.

She also launched Content Design London to provide training and consultation in content strategy and content design for governments, charities and organisations in the UK and worldwide.

Sarah is a respected and in-demand speaker and shares her expertise to audiences at conferences, meet-ups and events globally.

Annette Joseph, Founder of Diverse and Equal

Diverse & Equal (D&E) Founder, Annette Joseph, is an award winning Agile Coach who is passionate about improving tech by increasing the number of Black people and people of colour in the industry.

Diverse & Equal’s multi-strand focus equips people from under-represented groups with the necessary skills for careers in tech, through DiverseTech’s Taster sessions and bootcamps. While at the same time, leading research and initiatives that empower organisations to create inclusive environments where diverse talent can thrive and the business benefits of diversity can be realised.

Annette will be talking about inclusive narrative in digital products and services.

Rebekah Barry, Content Design and Strategy Consultant

Rebekah is writing a book on inclusive and accessible content design that will be published this year.

Rebekah spent about 10 years working for charities including Step Change, Gingerbread and Citizens Advice, focusing on benefits. She has worked with many government departments, including DWP where she also worked on health and disability-related benefits.

Alex Hall, Content Designer at Co-op

Alex Hall is a content strategist and designer at Co-op. Recently he helped to develop and launch the Co-op Experience Library, Co-op’s reinvention of its design system.

He lives in Preston, Lancashire and can usually be found watching a band or climbing a hill.

Natalie Clegg, Chair of the Represent Network at Co-op

Natalie is an Officer in Co-op Technology and has been at the Co-op for over 9 years.

A couple of years ago a group of colleagues got together to talk about their experiences of disability, and these became the founding members of Represent, a community of disabled colleagues. In June 2021, Natalie became the Chair of the network, alongside Gareth and Katy as Deputy Chairs.

Natalie has multiple chronic illnesses, and is passionate about creating equity for disabled people both in and out of work, and ensuring disabled voices are heard. Natalie will share some insights and context around disability and Represent, why the work the network is doing is important, and the impact of Represent on Co-op colleagues and customers.
