This is by far the best LED channel available.
The information in this video is what I have been looking for.
I had my suspicions about these things, wire gauge, power injection etc (I'm new to this LED stuff), but couldn't find anyone speaking about these issues.

I have done a cost comparison and it seems that 5V is the more expensive setup to create due to wire gauge required and lengths when doing a large run of strips..
24V seems to be the cheapest.

Wondering about the 12V system that covers roughly 13 metres. Front and end power injection should be enough, right?
At least with a 12V setup the wire gauge isn't over the top and affordable at bigger lengths.

Amazing channel and loads of information that's pure gold really. Definitely subbed and closely following! Thanks so much 🙏

I’m civil engineer n I work on construction n Remodeling for residential n commercial places n must of the time we ended up building our on diffusers into the static of the place we are working on to have channel we’re multiple light strips can fit like the RGBWW+CCT are great but now everyone wants RGB are analog, n in must cases we are force to do it because everyone wants Addressable LED but it is a most for them to have white light CRI 90 or higher but they also need warm light too so 2500k to 6500k cool white is what we need. Therefor We use multiple controllers, one for 24v white lights CCT Tunable ( this were the hardest to find n must of the time we justo go with analog high density but now we are using COB since price are going down like “COB LED Strip Lights White CCT Tunable 16.4ft/5m, PAUTIX 640LEDs/m Dimmable 2700K-6500K 24V LED Tape Lights CRI90+”), and a second separate controller for the addressable RGB (we prefer WS2815 for commercial usage since the added pin/wire helps with power distribution and more importantly if no 2 consecutive LED get burn down the lights strip keeps working if 1 gets damage, but WS2812b and WS2812E are great for residential work), some time we just go for sk6812 RGBW warm n add the cool white separately.

Now I have a few questions.

1.) I just recently came across your channel since ur Dig-Quad controller is perfect for this (BTW apparently u mention on some of ur videos the new Dig-Uno’s with the SP32 can also control 2 channels since it has a secret channel on it please more info on it is need it n according to this video it also can handle 24v) btw just saw the APA102 video u made n I will check it out is seem like a good option too.

2.) On 1 of ur other videos don’t know if it was a live stream u use a small board that look like the power injector but I’m not sure if it was. That board was connected from the DC Power source to the Dig-Quad n it shot-off the power to the light strip but keeps the chip power to reduce power consumption when led’s are off. What was that board used? was it the QuinLED-Data-Booster or a different one? I can’t find it on ur website only the Data-Booster.

3.) u mention that the 5v fuse on the Dig-Quad can be changed for high voltage u said “u can replace it with a 10v” when u were talking about 12v trips. I understand the fuse is to extend the life of the light strips n protected them for surges and those are for Voltage so the correct will be lower so more power injector will be need it but don’t know if the brightness will be affect? For the 24v there is a 20v fuse, can we use those on the Dig-Quad? Can we replace those style of car fuse n attach others with 12v or 24v?

4.) Checking ur website I saw u also have a other controllers for a along n “QuinLED-An-Deca” with 10 Chanel’s n it looks awesome but can’t find a new video we’re it goes over everything, do u have any videos or just the notes on the page? Also I only find the parts n instructions to assemble it DIY style, do u sell any of them already build like ur Dig-Uno n Quad?

5.) Also this is just an after though u don’t need to answer it if u don’t want. Do ur controllers work with amplifier like the SP901E SPI Signal Amplifier and
DMX Decoders? I would love to see a video were u connect The QuinLED-Did-Quad with the SP901E on each of the channels and the switch that shots-down the power to the light while while still powering the chip to reduce power consolation when lights are off? And will that board/switch would work if connected to a separate power unit that is powering other SP901E down the line or it only works if connected to the Dig-Quad? Also can we connect those data boosters on each Channel of the SP901E. Note: that if the Dig-Uno does have 2 channels it can be use too? Or use the QuinLED-An-Deca with DMX Decoter?

There’s still no individually addressable strip that I would consider suitable for architectural installs, ie 12 or 24v and containing warm white! (And not per three… Preferably with high CRI) - correct me if I’m wrong (and … take all my money if so!)

For things like stair installs, you need 1 per addressable zone for effect.

I’m planning on doing a stair install (across each step) and have installed thick wire to each side of stair (power injection one end of each step and data in at one end, data out at the other…)

Thanks for the explanation, still don't know what to do but do know what I can use, cheers.

Some 24v outdoor per 1 individual addressable LED string, would be great for me. 5v outdoor christmas light is not easy to handle with all those injection points.

Nice Video! How about using 5V strips, in series of 4 with 24v adjustement, and use a pnp optocoupler for data signal for each strip?

Great info!
Can you please advice for the components of an addressable led strip project lighting 2 decorative vertical columns each with 2 strips with the same light patterns.
For each column there are foreseen 2 LED strips 10 m long each lighting with the same patterns. RGBW warm, Waterproof, Wide angle led lamp and Breakpoint resume. Complete with power supply, controller, connections type, RF remote, WIFI app, music control and other components if necessary. The light intensity it is not crucial since is mainly for decoration.
Thank you
John

Nice, but you're missing an important usage: IN house long lenths. What about LED strips around your ceiling? I have such, and have each 6 meters (corners) a injection point, using regular RGBW 24V strip. Now, i like the adressable LED and want to replace it, but have only one injection point for 6-7 meters, and cabling is already there. No option for buck converter placings... How? Using blocks of 6 wil look horrible...

I just bought a 5m strip of 24v addressable from Costco. It is the neon style strip encased in silicone. Any idea what LEDs are used in this strip...can it be controlled with an Arduino? It was a good price at $34 for 5m.

Which LEDs/ controller can I get that will allow me to light up just 1 individual LED? Example if I have a 60LED strip and I just want to use some sort of script( hopefully python because what I'm trying to learn) to light up LED #24 BLUE. and LED#51 RED?

also can I do this using WLED and a DIGUNO Board?

Hi I need your help. You seem to have some very interesting tech. We use Hue to control all our lights. I want to start playing with led tape on a drive way illumination project. I'd like to connect some COB tape to hue. Have you got any thoughts about this. From looking at your led controllers I suspect Hue is a little low tech. However, I'd like to see if its possible to control the 'addressable RGB COB' tape via Hue, but get subtle ripple effect shown in your demo reel, instead of just solid colour. As your girlfriend says, "... you gotta find a use for this amazing tape...'

I was told that it's not the volt over long length that causes issues, but the APMs?

I have done plenty of dummy cabinet lights. Looking to expand to ic. My home is fairly simple. 12.12 roof gable to 55ft straight side.Back to the gable that's 24ft wide. Ive always used 12v. But im open to whatever. Thinking aluminium Chase diffuser at the gutter roof line. Any suggestions? Help? Thank u

I have a question, I have 24v leds strips on my house. I tried to move my controller (ESP 32) running WLED, further away, but when I did the when my leds went to white they would flash other colors. So I moved everything back to original location and wire lengths. It all worked fine. So how can I use a logic level shifter to boost the single so it won’t do the flashing of other colors when white is displayed?
Thank you!!
