I've been installing 24volt / 720 ICs for a few months, and this vid confirms what I know. First is you need to choose between addressable vs uniform color for best results. My 720 ICs pull over 100watts in full white mode, but a fraction that just running effects. Next, silicone anything destroys output. I stick to conventional channels with lightly frosted covers with COBs. Only time I bother with silicone is for swimming pools.

We recently opted for a combination of Govee Neon 16ft and 10ft strips and it's been awesome. They look great up close and have *mostly* good CRI and color. They tend to be a little weak on replicating warmer, incandescent lighting, but that's true of so many LEDs. They have a tons of cool patterns that can be synched together, but I haven't tried it with Home Assistant yet.

Nice job! Very thorough. I’ve done internet research on some of these, and had previously decided on the BTF 24 volt. Really appreciate you actually testing each, I’ll be buying your Cob recommendation. I’ve bought individually addressable LED strips in the past, and they are fun to play with, but honestly I don’t see the practicality. The chasing flashing tricks come across as Las Vegas sparkle. My spouse already thinks my fascination with colored LED lighting is marginally tacky, so I’m unlikely to use the individual addressable functions.
