Another is Train Driver. Depending on who you work for you can earn upto £90k with overtime. But £70k is more realistic with a small amount of overtime working for the higher paying companies. Plus free travel for family, 35 days paid leave, private pension., discounted international rail travel (£79 return to Bruge is what I paid) All training provided free of charge. Competition is high, entry tests are hard but don't let that stop you!

The info I wish was available before I chose my career path 20 years ago. This is Gold! It would be great to see one for people with degrees too. Thank you.

I’ve been a self employed electrician for 15 years, I’d say he’s bang on the money, because of the shortage there isent actually that much difference between salaried and self employed these days, some people like me don’t like having a boss and prefer the flexibility of self employment though. With Gas being banned from new build from 2025 the futures definitely electric.

Took home £160K last year as a self employed carpenter and joiner, granted I was doing on average around 80 hours a week and some pretty specialist stuff that takes many years to perfect but still…£160k where as a self employed Ltd company can offset most of that as expenses is pretty good 👍

I am 33 and have been earning £140k for the last couple of years working in a consulting firm. My bosses earn £350k - 2m. None of us deserve this amount of pay.

Electrics, easy, there are 3 wires, brown, blue, green. Just pop those in the right slots and you're good to go. You are now officially an electrician. Good luck!

Property development. Moving house is expensive and people instead are renovating and extending homes and spending a fortune. If you set up your own business, fixing up kitchens, gardens, extensions you can earn above 6 figures easy. I live in London, and met a Polish guy who only arrived 2 years ago, he has a team of 9 and they made over £800k last year renovating up peoples homes.

I'm watching this as a final year Law degree student with no job opportunities and an awful CV. A degree doesn't make you any better than someone who doesn't have one guys :')

I’m going to uni still just for the experience and degree, after that I’ll get a job to give me some income that I can invest into a Buisness. When my business starts picking up I can leave my job that’s my plan.
