I have the h350 and sounds great with 2.1 content but plays at 5.1 by default. Why is this a thing?

This will be as unreliable as the HTST5000. I have the HTST5000 and the HDMI inputs have stopped working after 1 year. It’s been only 1 MONTH since my warranty expired but Sony support would not repair it for me anymore. I was just told to go to the service center and have to pay $400 for the repair
