Even though I have invested countless hours and too much money in this game, I still crave getting better. Wargaming isn’t helping! The treshold for a new player vs a seasoned player is bigger than ever.
They dont have the bounty/improved equipment, field mods and so on.

Battle Pass Judgment Day --- From the outset, I predicted you need to buy this tank. For normal players, I said, NO WAY, can you complete 50 stages in this short time period. So, I had to use my gold to basically buy it. Keep up your good reviews.

Yeah, I hear you man. I mean, more or less I get the most enjoyment out of playing the lower tier games. They play out in less predictable ways and some of those lower tier tanks are pretty fun. I don't really like this experimental equipment. It works really well and all that but I don't think I'm going to engage with it tbh. I tried some on my Vz. 51 and 55 but that's probably about where it'll start and stop for me.

You are 100% correct about this BS! I'm a 9 year player and nowadays the game is not as fun as it was before. I am leaving the game for a month and evaluate my future in WOT. Thank you for this video.

I enjoy lower tier play as well. Probably will focus on that when I get back from vacation.

I'd be interested to know if WG are actively trying to make the game more profitable than enjoyable. I have this nagging feeling that the bosses have grown tired of the game and want to move on in life or something. From my point of view, WG seem to be spending more development resources on new premium content that can generate income than they are spending on developing the gaming experience for all players, F2P (free) and P2P (pay) alike, new maps, new game modes, balancing of old maps and tech tree tanks etc.
Everything about Crew Skill 2.0+ just reeks of profitability...

Hmm, great explanation there. I am surprised by your reaction to the event tho, I know you are an Arnie fan and that probably stemmed from things like the Terminator franchise. This has to be the coolest event we ever have had, and yeah Arnie isn't the voice which was sad, it is still really awesome! I am glad I came back, though Marathons tend to burn me out. But for health reasons now especially. After being gone so long, I have a renewed interest in the game and am enjoying it more. They have done quite a few things to address concerns I have had with the game over the years. I do like the idea of the new equipment mainly because often vehicles really need 4 modules and we can combine the effects into one slot, albeit a compromise.
Not really sure on how that will make vets OP, in essence they are taking less in order to have 2, right? I mean often we need to choose between GLD and Vstab, so to have both on one is kind of ideal. It does seem fairly expensive though so incentive to grind.
IDK this game is pretty special, we haven't ever had anything like it. War Thunder is so much worse than this, never has had the polish, made way worse decisions, and it in 4th gen right now, while WOT has stayed pretty consistent. They apparently have found a formula that works and continues to try to address player concerns.
I hope that continues and the game lasts many more years, but again this is a brand new thing, and still to this day hasn't had a real competitor. So we don't know what to expect, you know?
They didn't release the bz line like the premium, and some express about how they are happy they didn't but then find something else to complain about. The T-832 is a perfect compromise of what players ask for, a good but not OP premium, with an awesome skin, and something a bit unique about it so it doesn't make the tech tree tank look awful.
I mean they are certainly trying and maybe they deserve all the hard criticism but I hope they can find ways to help people appreciate the good and express that.

Well I am on level 28 I should be close to making it, been enjoying my tier 6s. I really don't mind being bottom tier either. I like being able to support the team even if I am not the top dog that has the responsibility to directly counter the other tier 8s.
The bz has a super long reload. It has very vulnerable spots. A lot of times they shoot things that eat their rounds and then they get jumped. IDK if you played much of it but it is really easy to not do anything in a game, because of RNG, and poor set up. It doesn't snapshot, it misses fully aimed shots, and yeah if you drive in front of it side on you are going to lose half your health. lmao. Maybe, if the tracks don't eat it or something.

I learned years ago that WG's overall monetization philosophy ISN'T to build a sustainable ecosystem. Their guiding principle is the 'hamster wheel' economy. Instead of addressing community complaints, or truly innovating (which is harder admittedly) they take the easy path. Instead they force all players into an ENDLESS ARMS RACE, requiring large sums of real dollars to participate. This contest... this hamster wheel... can NEVER be "won"! And that's the point. This philosophy is by-design! THAT in a nutshell is WG's overall monetization principle. If you don't constantly PAY into the system with real dollars in order to offset enormous time commitments, then you can't have the new 'power-up'... the new ADVANTAGE over your fellow player. This means a player cannot even maintain STATUS QUO, much less thrive, once they jump off the hamster wheel. I'm not a rodent. I refused to be manipulated. I closed my wallet and reallocated 90% of my WoT hrs to other activities. I'm now immensely more happy. I STILL play the game & do enjoy the challenge, but I've had to drastically reset my expectations. I now realize 54% WR was my PEAK and it's been all downhill since I closed my wallet. I know my woefully outclassed tech tree tanks and small stable of C-grade premiums like the T-34-3, Ravioli, and Mutz can't prevent a steamroll by BZ's, Skoda's and Bourrasque's fitted with Bond/Bounty/Improved... and now Experimental equipment. It's pretty hard accepting being blasted HALFWAY ACROSS THE MAP for 900+ hp by freakin' Tier8 when trying to play a AMX 65t, or FCM 50t, or T34B. If I didn't have my only two A-tier premiums (Progetto & AMX 13 57), I don't think I'd make enough credits to continue playing WoT.

I agree - there are a lot of things that make this a negative experience for new players. I started in 2020 and it’s fortunate for me that a lot of the changes you talk about have come along since I started. However I also see that players are still playing and progressing - even on free accounts - The thing that makes this ‘bad’ for me to be honest are the massively lopsided matches. Random battles, with equitable match making - with no more than one tier difference up until tier 7 (therefore the only three tier games would be 8-10) or something similar would make a huge difference. How many times have we been in a tier 6 vehicle and matched against tier 8 tanks that we cannot even damage?

Absolutely correct I have played for 5 yrs I'm an average player 6200 .i have ground a lot of lines to tier 10 and have over 40000 games so far but .I have stopped playing regularly as I have grown tired of the game it has become more of a chore and like hard work than fun. Exactly as you say. Beforeci gave up I was strating to seriously study cc, s content .study tanks gg .study my own replays study my tanks and how to improve their capabiltys etc etc.then I thought why do I have to work so hard just to play a game! So I'm having a rest.if I come back I might just play 1 or 2 fav tanks only in my fav tier.forget everything else wg is tempting me with.but not sure still thinking where I want to invest my time.wg is sure turning me off this game real quick.cheers
