I stopped buying DVDs years ago and recently went through all the ones I own and gave away at least 2/3 of them. The rest, are in a binder style of container with DVD inserts. Now, I just borrow them from the library...free and space-effective!

We have decided to sell off/donate our entire DVD collection (700+) in an effort to reduce the clutter in the house, we have also reduced our CD collection by about 50% so far

We got rid of 2 big shelving units by just using a cd case for movies. It was wonderful!

I really appreciate your videos because you have no competing background audio. I can hear and pay attention to what you are saying : ) Just wanted to say thank you.
I have not tried Dr Bronners for face wash - that would be great savings. I have been looking for non sulfate shampoo that is safe for eyes for face wash too that would be a true head to toe soap for me. I will continue my search : )
I too buy mostly used clothing. Yeah!

Great video! I love Dr. Bronner's and think a video testing all 18 uses would be cool to watch.

Nice video. You're very articulate and have a good handle on your subject. I watch a lot of Youtube and you are a breath of fresh air. Thanks for this upload. I'm going to check out more of your channel.

In the past I purchased clothing that I loved at Goodwill & other thrift stores. Now I buy a lot of used clothes on eBay for a small fraction of the new cost. Love those things more than expensive clothes my husband likes to buy for me. Many years ago as a young girl I spent a fortune on my wardrobe....not now as an older woman! Also making my own cleaning products with the items you mention. Got to work on getting away from using paper towels.

I just started using dr. Bronzers as face wash and I love it! It helps with my usual redness and I like the redness.
I put it in a dropper bottle and only need 3 drops in my wet palm to wash my face and neck!

Vita Cost sells a castile soap much like Dr. Bronner's called Dr. Woods I believe. Offered in many varieties, it costs less and works great. They often have free shipping and sell a wide selection of healthy food and home products. I buy the apple cider vinegar from them in the large size, a multiuse product for sure. Thanks for the great tips.

things I don't buy: Liquid soap, so many chemicals, so much waste! Just use a bar of soap, and when it gets down to the scraps, you can throw it in the toilet and wash out the toilet with it. Newspapers. Much less books than previously--get most from the "little free libraries" (and recycle them there too) or pass around from family members. I try to buy much less food, to waste less. I still always end up composting bananas though, somehow! Even though I usually only buy two a week. Guilty. :-(

When we replace our towels, we send the big ones to the animal shelter, use the hand towels for the car, and the wash rags for cleaning. Re: clothing. Read Overdressed by Elizabeth Cline.

I've stopped buying most of those products. I also stopped buying kleenex for personal use. I have bandanas in the house that I use and small flannel squares that I stick in my pocket or purse when going out. At the end of the day, I stick them in the laundry and take out a clean one. I do still buy kleenex for my classroom, because...ick! I'm also a huge fan of the Everyone Soap. One container lasts me about 4 months, used for face, body, and hair. I love only having one product in the shower.

I don't buy foaming soap mix, make it your self mix approximately 1 inch of your favorite soap in your bottle fill with water mix well just tweak the water to soap for a perfect foam so much cheaper! thanx for the info .

Great tip about the liquid hand soap! I buy a 3 litre canister of fragrance free hand soap for 3 euros and refill a smaller dispenser. An individual small one would easily cost a few euros every time.

I have a lot of movies and CDs and I recently got rid of all the cases and filed them into a box, the entire collection took up a very small fraction of the box I got to organize them in. I did keep my full collection of Cher CDs and movies in the cases for display and collection purposes, but it felt so good to recycle all of that empty plastic

I stopped buying disposable feminine care products and now use cloth pads they are awesome for woman's health and a hugeee money saver. At the beginning it's a little expensive but once you build your stash (about 7 good ones) you are ready to forget about buying more like for 5-7 years depending on the quality and the care.

I no longer buy magazine subscriptions, cleaning products other than vinegar, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. I also wear very little to no makeup. I use an under eye concealer I think I need and a Burt’s bees lip gloss. I no longer buy books but go to library or borrow them....
