Sungold Cherry Tomato Taste Test - Is It As Good As They Say

This was the first time that I have ever grown Sungold Cherry Tomatoes. I've had lots of people tell me that they were one of their favorite tomatoes, so I just had to see if they were as good as they say.
They are an indeterminate, and I haven't grown many indeterminate tomatoes since I started growing dwarf tomatoes from the dwarf tomato project. After tasting them, I might just have to find room for one of these next year too.

I've still got some going in a bucket & they're still going at 6ft 🙂 & we've only had around a week of good weather this year. Having a crack at Orange Centiflora next year to go alongside.

I grew these & super sweet 100. They were both very sweet but I didn’t like the flavor. I’m weird, I know. I think I like cooked tomatoes like sauce, salsa, etc etc. however, I did dry quite a few of them and packed them in oil & they are very good as sun dried tomatoes 🍅

My sun gold cherry tomatoes are all yellow when ripe. They are so sweet and mild. I grew them because they are not as acid. Love them!

I grew Sun Gold's for the first time last year along with other cherry tomatoes: Supersweet 100, Yellow Pear, and Mexico Midget grape tomatoes. I'd snack on a mix of them while watching TV and, without looking, I could always tell when I crunched down on a Sun Gold - so delicious. This year I grew from seeds and planted 1 each of 10 other variaties, but I planted two Sun Golds and they're so good! I'm growing the very prolific Yellow Pear again - cut in half and sprinkled with salt it's great. I'm trying for the first time Black Cherry and Orange Roussollini Cherry. I'm also growing, for the 2nd year, Wapsipinicon Peach, a 2" pale yellow tomato with a hint of peach fuzz that's a great snacking tomato.

My neighbor grew 2 of these plants this year. He allowed me to harvest what I wanted. And im here to tell ya. These are my new favorite tomato hands down. And as you. I've never been a cherry tomato fan. But im planting only Sun Golds next year in my garden.

I love them cut in half on BLTS, cheeseburgers and almost any sandwich. I also cut a bunch up. Add a little homemade salad dressing and eat tomato salads. I've always been a tomato fan but these really caught my attention. Awesome video.

This was my first year growing Sun Gold, Black cherry is the other that I grew, And have grown many time's other years, I can't decide witch I like better, There both very good, Next year I am thinking of growing Isis candy, or blush.

2022 was the year i nailed it with SunGold ... horseshit + mulch and no watering... made it my all time favourite..

I agree with you Jim the Sungold is a great tasting cherry tomato. I grew one called Sun Sugar that looked just like the Sungold but was even sweeter. My favorite chrrry is called Black Cherry and is very similar to a Cherokee Purple. You should give it a try. Thanks for the video.

Honey Gold and Brad's Atomic Grape also excellent, But I have Sun Gold growing this season, High Expectations here
