I grew sun golds for the first time this past year, and they were the best-tasting tomatoes that I have ever eaten. My relatives absolutely loved them as well. They produced right up to our first frost. Very prolific! I trellised them and used tomato clips. Highly recommended!

My first year to grow the Sun Gold as well. I hate to jump on a bandwagon but dang, they really are tasty and healthy! Winner😊

I am surprised by the yellow pear drop tomato, very healthy, very prolific, and quite good tasting. And the indigo pear drop, the best tasting one, very healthy very prolific also. I had them for the first time, and I will always have them, for sure. And they are heirloom.

I trained this on a trellis this year and it's now more than ten feet high!

I add sungold to spaghetti sauce to make it more tart at times. Roasting tomatoes first in an oven takes a lot of water out of any tomatoes, so paste tomatoes are not a necessity. Thanks for your videos!!

I wonder if we handpollinate before the flower bloom, and with red small cherry and other varieties so we can develop some new variety. I love creating new things out of old :P

Also sun sugar, they have a thicker skin so they are not as prone to cracking.

I'm guessing there is Sungold or a derivative of it in Berpie's Honeycomb Hybrid.
I planted Honeycomb Hybrid years ago, saved the seeds from the fruits and have planted their offspring every year since. A little less prolific than the hybrid but even better flavor until this year in which some plants are good, some have oblong shaped fruits which are less sweet, and one produced an abundance of tennis ball-sized yellow fruits.

Having looked at and tasted Sun golds I'd say they are fairly similar to the honeycomb hybrid in appearance but honeycomb hybrid taste like sweet berries by comparison typical cherry tomato flavor of Sungolds.

mine have been very susceptible to powdery mildew but I still managed to get a lot fruit before they were too far gone.

Buying sun gold and keep the seeds of all tomatoes. I dont think you should buy tomato seeds. Instead buying actual tomato from supermarkets, fermenting your seeds yourself..
