Today's video, we'll be testing and reviewing the gameplay of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (ToTK) on the all-new Steam Deck, using the Beta Steam OS version 3.5 that claims to offer significantly enhanced performance.
With Steam OS 3.5 being in its beta stages, we've taken it upon ourselves to explore its potential and push the limits of what's possible on the Steam Deck. If you've been considering playing ToTK on this handheld console, you won't want to miss this!
We've also integrated a nifty little tool from Decky called Powertools to further optimize the game's performance. In this comprehensive review, we'll provide you with an in-depth analysis of how these enhancements impact your gameplay experience on the Steam Deck.
The best part? We've managed to achieve near-perfect performance emulating ToTK on the Steam Deck, thanks to these powerful upgrades. But don't take our word for it - stick around to see the results for yourself!
Towards the end of the video, we will do a comparison using three different settings. This will provide a clear perspective on how each tweak and adjustment affects the overall performance of ToTK on the Steam Deck, so you can find the best setup that suits your gameplay style.

On the steam deck. One device for everything. And I enjoy tinkering

The performance is lesser on the deck but you have that factor of tinkering with your deck that makes it way more enjoyable. Easy to mod unlike most switch units which require mod chip installation & when you legitimately back it up from a modded switch for the deck, you feel like a chad

Thats a great question! I have been looking for a definitive answer to know which system to buy!

How? I bought both and I can't figure out a way to play Zelda on the steam deck.

Might as well just play it on a switch, the point of pc hardware is to play the game at higher resolution and frame rates

Early Access? I thought yuzu was already released

Probably on the switch or on my phone, when it gets to that point cause it can already run at 20-60 fps ingame and it was just recently supported Just whatevers smallest. The steam deck is really good for portabilizing heavy games though. Switch emulation just isnt hard because the console is pretty aged

I get massive frame drops when climbing trees, being near enemies and NPCs on my new OLED TOTK switch. I’m pissed. Wish I had it on steam deck.

Steam Deck. With a switch I get to play Nintendo games. On a SD I get to play basically whatever I want.

On switch because switch emulation is very rough and unstable

I wouldn’t play tears of the kingdom on anything because it sucks, I played it on my switch and could have emulated on pc but the game has a lot bigger problems then just framerate. The worst zelda game of all time
