My 2005 Twin Cam is great since I have rebuilt the whole thing replacing the bad Harley parts with aftermarket items that were designed to actually work. I see the M8 being the same path. They already have problems with the compensator exploding and the oil pump not working well.

2010 ultra 107 (96 stock). twin cam later years were awesome. Heat was a stock epa tuning situation robbing riders of power. Cam chain tensioners are a non issue as the tensioner shoes can last at least 50k miles. Tested myself. Gave the bike a teardown at 105k miles out of sheer boredom. 96 should be enough for most riders. There is a point where chasing hp/tq displays diminishing returns on investment. I got my stage 3 supplies for less than two payments on a m8. Love the content!

I ride a 2002 Road King Classic. I have ridden a 2017 M8. I liked the power and braking of the 2017. I did not like the feel (or lack of feel) of the counterbalanced motor. I prefer the handling of the 2002.

My RK has a 96 in it. My first Harley. I love it. I haven’t ridden other Harleys so I don’t know what I’m missing. Getting ready to do the power vision and probably waste money, but have them put on the dyno to program. It does everything I need it to do.

After 28 years on EVOs, I'm just warming up to my "new" '01 Dyna Super Glide. It's zippy enough for me. I still have my '99 Softail EVO, though.

I had both, the eight is smoother and faster out the box. No mods

M8 107, 114 ownership and Twin Cam's 88 A & B, 103 A & B ownership all have been good all have rode on Xway at 75, 80ish prefer for me Softail 103 B presently 2013 Heritage Softail no cruise control however Go Cruise device works well for manual cruise when needed. Thanks for your insight. Ride on

I was eyeballing the new road kings, but after careful consideration, I think I'll add an evo to the stable. I want as few wires and sensors as possible for my next bike.

48k miles on my 99 electra. Very soon I’ll put a 100” big bore kit into it and cams. I upgraded the cam bearings and pump and baby other things already. Have bassini fish tails coming in this week. Think I’ll lose some power which sucks but worth it for that sound baby

I have a 2010 Dyna Superglide Twin Cam. Its the last bike I'll ever buy. I also have a 2003 dyna low ride TC 88 and I done see all this extra power there is supposed to be in the new bikes. Its the rider skill that wins the race.

My Breakout 114 is cammed and tuned. I love it. That being said, I wish that Harley would've kept the Evo and just made them bigger.

Have 2018 Heritage Glassic with the M8 107 and it's great with a couple of exceptions. First the sump oil mess is just BS. Secondly, I rode it up to northern Arizona last weekend and it developed a tick and then a knock and will be in the dealership this week utilizing the extended warranty. Other than those two, it rides great and I've taken it on some good trips. Ride safe!

Mine also has a fat rear tire, which I believe does make a difference

'16 FLTRU Road Glide Ultra, 103 HO, stage 1. Effortless 80-90 mph cruise, plenty of low end grunt. Ticks all my boxes. I have other bikes for other purposes.

I have both and like them both for different reasons. I prefer the M8 for long distance

Oh, the frame matters! I had a 2009 Fatboy that I loved. But I have to say, my 2020 Low Rider 107 have significant better handling capabilities with the stock super simple to adjust rear suspension. As for the engines, they are all fine. I never understand the hype of putting cams and outrageous performance upgrades, on a bike that will never be faster than an MT-07, unless you have a bagger! You really need to put everything you have on a half ton motorcycle because of the power to weight ratio, right? Harleys are not meant to be more than amazing cruisers or baggers, not track day crotch rockets, IMHO.

I bought a 2016 Heritage Softail with only 9k miles on it for 11, 500. 103 HO. They wanted 26k for a new M8 Heritage. No way I was paying over twice the money for a new M8 bike. The 103 HO has more power than I’ll ever need and enough to get me killed. When it comes to Harley I just never cared much about power. I care about being comfortable and cruising. If I wanted a fast bike I’d buy something else. Like that Kawasaki 900 they make that looks like a 1975 Kawasaki from the past. Sweet bike! But for taking a ride to the mountains for a weekend I like a Harley and it will cruise at 75mph in 6th gear and never break a sweat. For 11, 500 bucks…a paid for nearly mint condition heritage softail 103 HO is more than enough for me. They can keep their 26k dollar M8 softail. I had the money for one and coulda paid cash for it too but I wasn’t impressed.
