i love your fabrication mods and the ingenuity you approach them with. I like doing projects like this myself, and your methods are really helpful

Your videos provide huge entertainment value. Removing 7 screws to change a pair of 18650 batteries once in a blue moon is too much hassle? You can’t help yourself from tinkering, love it.

Did same battery upgrade 3 years ago on Costco selling work light. "Faith" brand. Really good lights except the junk batteries. Put good quality panasonic 18650 batteries harvested from my laptop battery. What a difference.
Just use at least 2amp charger and you good to go.

It looks like there's enough room on the other side of the light to put two more batteries if you wanted to do so.

Very cool hack, my friend. I don’t think those two batteries can charge a hungry iPhone.

Not a fan of the door tbh. Better off (IMO) loading the case up with as many cells as you can fit, run the XT60 out and that's it. That way, it remains splash resistant as long as you dab the wire holes with glue or silly-cone. Even so, the battery sled inside does make for a nice, quick upgrade with just a screwdriver. 👍

I'm wondering if you can help me think through something. I've been thinking for a while of building my own DIY scooter, assuming that I would save significant money. I started running numbers, for instance, using Kobalt's tool batteries, and this is what I came up with. The retail scooter that I'm thinking of getting is a 5600 watt (dual motor) with a 60 volt, 31.5 Amp hour battery... the cells are Fengchao. If the battery goes bad, the replacement battery is $600. I was thinking I could rig something up using Kobalt batteries for probably cheaper, but when I started doing the math, building a battery from parallel and series 24 volt 4 Amp hour batteries, into a 72 volt 32 Amp hour battery would be $1200 using the 24 volt 4AH cells. (2 pack is about $100)

Anyway, it makes me think that it's not worth it, unless the Fengchao cells are pure crap. What are your thoughts? Have scooter prices come down in price to the point that it's not worth it to build from scratch anymore? This particular scooter is pricy ..$1830, but just trying to replicate the batteries would be at least $1000. Any knowledge about Fengchao battery cells?

Quick you use a kobalt battery in for instance a e100 Razor for a lead acid replacement, do you have to worry about it discharging too much, or does the circuitry within the battery keep it from discharging too much?

Didn't need to butcher it with the door. The fast charge xt60 mod was enough....🤔😳😏🇬🇧

Mate that's nice on principle but that xt60 connector is very dodgy, if something shorts it you will be shorting two very hight capacity cells without any protection...
