i traveled with a classic rick steves green bag for 20 plus years, however on my last trip to Europe for 3 months by way of QM2 i bought a 29 inch spinner and a 17 inch leather attache. i now check the spinner everywhere even on short hops without issue. i find it actually easier as an older man and i don't rent cars. Venice the vaporetto, bring it on, Florence down the right hand steps and down the street why not, each for a month no problem and i can dress in a jacket and tie without looking like a schlep. now if i was on and off a train every few days or walking the Camino i'd go back to the carry pack but there just comes a time and the wheels on spinners are a lot tougher than they used to be.

Recently came back from a winter trip and only packed a carry on and a slim backpack for the essentials. Everyone kept asking where all my other stuff was, or why I looked so at ease on travel days - all thanks to Rick and his team! Packing light also saved me completely when the airports closed and cancelled flights - no wondering where my big check-in bag went!

Best information clip I’ve seen. Straight to the point no wasted waffling on which drives me mad. I often think it’s more about the presenter than the product. Thank you.

I just returned from a two week trip to Texas and although I thought I packed lightly, I didn't. I have a large Ravenna backpack that I bought ages ago and it still holds up as well as the small Veloce Shoulder bag that I use as a purse. And third, I brought the convertible carry on. Not too bad, but I feel like I brought too much. I'm planning on buying a small version of the Ravenna backpack for school and on future trips, I may just use the large Ravenna backpack as my suitcase and leave the other bag at home or use it for car trips. SInce losing my husband, I have to travel by myself now and flying would be so much easier with less bags. But I highly recommend any of Rick Steves' bags. They are wonderful and last forever.

After 2 trips to Italy I now agree with Rick on packing light. "There is no way I can have all that I need in one bag such as that." "Well, he is right about having just one bag." " If my bag was smaller I could carry it and not have to drag it over these cobblestone" For the third trip I have come to believe what Rick has been saying all along.

Rick I really love your shows. I am a Handicapped Senior Citizen. Due to my injuries Neck wallets or Money Belts are not an option. I have however found a solution that allows me to carry everything I require for my day trips around Costa Rica. I bought a Fishing vest and the clear inside pocket hold my Passport and Medical information, The other deep inside pockets hold my keys, wallet and any other valuables. I keep my camera gear, odds and ends, munchies, and another wallet with my day money on the outside of the vest. It is very comfortable to wear and convenient to use. Perhaps you can improve on the design if you believe there is a market for it?

Not sure about American planes but many carriers only allow 7.5 KG for economy passengers carry-on. I find I need around 10 - 13
kgs for a decent trip to the Mediterranean which has always meant I need Check-in luggage. There is also stuff they wont allow in carry-on. My personal favorite is a 50 Litre combo wheelie back-pack. You can mostly drag them but if needed they can be carried on your back for short distances easily.

Air Transat Carry on maximum size is 20" x 16" x 9" including handles and wheels...I'm trying to find a carry-on of that size. Too bad that yours is a little to tall

All too heavy. I go for 3 months with a REI 22 liter flash pack and a collapsable day pack.

I live in San Francisco and I cannot tell you how many times I see tourist with luggage they can barely manage. It also gets in everyone's way in public transportation.

No laptop, Camera, or books? what about a spare pair of shoes? Seems like a second bag might be necessary for the plane ride, etc.

Most Airlines have a 7kg weight limit for carry on Baggage..how does that work out if the carry on convertible is your only luggage
