Rick Steves' 'No-Travel Tips'

Europe has re-opened to travelers...except Americans. It seems that the USA's quarantine skills just aren't up to snuff. And, judging from the new coronavirus cases sweeping our country, we have a lot of room for improvement. If you want to flatten our curve so we can head back to Europe, the recipe is simple: Self-isolate at home as much as possible. If you're out in public, socially distance. And be sure to wear a mask.

In the meantime, it seems that we may be stuck at home for a while longer. If you're like me, more than 100 days of staying close to home is wearing thin (even though it's just as important as ever). Sometime during the haze of quarantine, I started brainstorming ways that travelers can bring a little bit of Europe into our daily lives during this crisis. This video offers a few suggestions.

Share!!!! My mom and dad have always been huge fans and they would sit us by the tv and tell us where u were taking us today, we grew up very poor and lived in the projects (my dad was disabled). As an adult it was my great joy to take them on a 30 day trip to Europe and they lived all the spots they wanted to see becuse u had shared them with us for so many years!!! After that trip I would get calls “rick is in ____ where we went on our trip” (in Spanish) lol they never stoped talking about it and u helped them relive it with so many episodes, my dad passed a year ago and mom has Alzhimer’s now, and gues what she dosent forget, “where is Rick taking us today”. Thank u!!! U opened a world for people that would never have imagined being able to travel as “Rick” did!

I "discovered" your travel videos when we went on quarantine, and I've been travelling one video every morning ever since. I enjoy travelling to the place on my bucket list. I prefer your style of travelling -- visiting museums, venturing on off-the-beaten-path trips, learning the historical significance of a place, and engaging the locals.
