Nothing makes a chess player happier than being told he lost a winning position 😂

Nepo such a good guy, he was actually trying to cheer up Magnus.

Don't even think this is Nepo rubbing it in, he's a real genuine and good hearted guy he just always likes to discuss the positions whether he wins or loses.. totally understandable that Magnus wouldn't be in the mood for it though

Nepo did similar discussions after he lost his classical world championship matches against Magnus. He genuinely just lives the game of chess. That’s probably why he has become so so good.

Ian really a class act, almost as if he felt a bit sorry for magnus, trying to light him up by complimenting his play earlier in the game and adding "two reasons at least to be happy". Obviously nothing can take away the pain of a loss, so magnus didn't want to go any further in analysing the match

Honestly there's nothing wrong, he didn't just walk out, even though he for sure is upset he still congratulated Ian and stuck around to listen to his analysis and only then did he leave. Definitely nothing wrong with that behavior. Also shows how much top GMs respect one another.

Magnus is me after a by pair lab exercise while Nepo is my friend trying to discuss about it with me after class

Magnus and Nepo talked post-game after the world championship matches. It's not unusual, except today Magnus wasn't in the mood.

Why do bad things happen to Nepo? Hans cheats when he plays him, Wesley calls the arbiter when the plays him, Magnus doesn't want to socialize with him. Poor guy.

Magnus: “if I speak now, I am in big trouble”

The crowd is so impressed they even clap Nepo's post analysis of the winning position of Magnus.

Ian is such a nice and innocent guy, he is trying to make Magnus feel better but doesn't realize Magnus doesn't even want to think about the game

Magnus is preparing a devastating tweet, Nepo better stay offline for a while

imagine Magnus saying to Nepo after he blunder his bishop "you could not blunder the bishop you would have a wining position"

Ian talks after wins and losses all the time. I also think it's okay for Magnus to be frustrated but polite as well.

Ian is always very hard on himself after bug losses so I suspect he understood how Magnus felt and was trying to cheer him up a bit

Any time I see people bashing someone for being a sore loser, I just think about how it is in fighting game tournaments. They don't hate that they "lost", they hate that they didn't do as well as they "should have", and enter a state of intense self-hatred and disappointment in themselves as they run through every mistake they know they made. Every "Good game!" is like being told you did a good job getting in a car accident, so it's just salt in the wound.

I understand Magnus' Frustration but there are worse people to lose to for sure lol

Carlsen had a similar, just slightly more unfriendly, reaction when Nakamura tried to discuss one of their games. That's one of his weaknesses as a 5-time world champion.
