HOMEMADE TOMATO KETCHUP
(makes about 2.5 cups)
Yellow Onion | 1/2 each | 3.5 oz.
Garlic Cloves | 2 each
Cloves, ground | 1/4 tsp.
Allspice | 1/4 tsp.
Mustard Powder | 1/4 tsp.
Celery Seed | 1/2 tsp.
Tomato Paste | 2 tbsp.
Whole Peeled Tomatoes | 28 fl. oz. can
Dark Brown Sugar | 1/2 Cup | 2 3/4 oz.
Worcestershire Sauce | 1 tbsp. | 1/2 oz.
Apple Cider Vinegar | 1/2 cup | 4 oz.
Kosher Salt | 2 tsp.
Black Pepper | to taste

Much closer to a simple bbq sauce instead of a ketchup/tomato sauce.
The brown sugar and wostashire are typically added to ketchup to start them as a bbq sauce.

If you take this recipe and double the brown sugar, then add some very finely diced green and red bell peppers at the end, it makes a mean Sloppy Joe mix.

I did a double batch and it either fit 2 or 3 pounds of browned hamburger (can't remember), and it was a huge hit with the family

They say where crazy to make ketchup! I don't think so. I think where smarter than they are ! We know what in it ! We made it, and its 10 X better than store bought ketchup YUM I make my own past too
