In June of 1939, the German ocean liner St. Louis with 937 Jewish passengers was turned away ftom the port of Miami forcing it to return to Nazi Germany.

You forgot to mention that on January 22, 1944 Pope Pius XII opened the doors of the Castle Gandolfo to 12, 000 refugees many of them were Jews .
