How to use AirPods Pro automatic device switching on iOS 16 or later

Today I’ll show you guys how to use automatic device switching in iOS 14.

Ok if automatic device switching isn’t working for you guys you have to connect both iPhone and iPod Touch 7th gen or iPad to the same pair of AirPods Pro by going to music then tap the current song that’s playing, then tap the airplay icon on both devices, then select AirPods Pro on both devices, then it should work. You also have to make sure the setting called connect to this iPhone is set to automatically in AirPods Pro settings in Bluetooth for this to work as well. The AirPods Pro charging case has to be charged for the connection to be successful. iCloud has to be turned on for the switching to work. This doesn’t work on macOS Big Sur yet.

For those of you who have problems when it comes to MacBook. This feature does not work currently with macOS Catalina, it will be however available when macOS Big Sur will be released.

This might be slightly off topic, but if anyone reading this has been struggling to get their (possibly non-Airpod) bluetooth headphones to switch between ipod and iphone, first make sure that they are connected to both devices. Second, after playing audio via an app on one device, *make sure to close that app on the first device before playing audio via an app on the second device*. I just discovered this with my JBL Reflect Aero headphones on my iPhone and iPad running iOS16 and iPadOS16. Hope it helps.

This does work between any apps on my iPhone 11 and iPad 6 with Airpods Pro at their stable latest versions, not on mac right now
