Birdwatching shouldn't work as a game - but Wingspan from Monster Couch is one of those rare occasions where the adapted version might exceed the original. A stunningly rendered and faithful adaptation of the tabletop game, the digital version for Steam is a gorgeous looking and sounding game that is just a ridiculously deep strategic game.

I've known about Wingspan for awhile now as a tabletop gamer, but never pulled the trigger on picking it up as a board game. However, I knew when I heard about the digital version, that'd be the one for me - and this game doesn't disappoint. I hope we see the European and Oceania expansions added down the road!

I saw your tweet about Wingspan! I can see how many would flock to a title like this. It's nice that it's multiplayer so toucan play. Appreciate the walk through of the gameplay so new players won't have to wing it. I don't have the money to buy it right now, so hopefully they can put it on my bill.

My brother is currently obsessed with this game. I haven't played it yet but I am sure bro is just waiting for a chance to make me. So while I can't claim a favorite bird from the game I can say I am rather found of American Kestrel and Ospreys. The Kestrel is just so small and cute while still being a fierce predator. Favorite digital version of a table top game is currently going to be Sentinels of the Multiverse. Just an excellent superhero card game. So much charm and thought went into creating that game.

Thank you for sharing your digital experience of Wingspan. I can’t get enough of that feel good game. Do you have information about the European and Oceania expansions coming to the digital world ? I mostly play against the Automa and made up an house rule that I call 'Adopt a bird'. In the setup phase, simply choose a bird that you can observe in your surroundings or neighborhood. It has to be a brown power and single habitat only card. Then, complete your hand with four other cards. Of course, this could not possible with the digital version but just to say that this game has raised to my number one game of all my gaming life.
