The writing perfection on this series summed up in one line.
"Sorry about your table cloth"

I laughed so hard when I saw that episode. At the time you had no idea how he was going to get out of it. They set that up beautifully.

When Fletcher puts his gun on the table, Raylan's face is "is this guy for real?"

This show was perfect - the absolute best cast of actors, excellent writing. It was another series i didn't want to end.

I like that every now and again his Miami shooting gets mentioned in the show. Everyone knows how that turned out and still wanna challenge Raylan with the thought "I'm sure I can take him."

Gotta admire how Raylan showed like absolutely no fear. Just chilling, the cold yet determined look in his eyes when the lady was counting down!

Many don't realize that Raylan had to be calm enough to gently pull the tablecloth so the friction of the gun on the table wasn't overcome by inertia. It's these subtle nuances that made it such an enjoyable moment and show.

The guy holding the gun would make an excellent Gambit

this show is endlessly brilliant. fortunately there's tons of amazing clips on youtube, like this, for me to revisit.

this scene is an example of some of the best stuff on tv in the past decade (ie: breaking bad): the writers create an INESCAPABLE situation and yet find a way for the protagonist to win. brilliant

I’ve watched this series 4 times. I’m sure I will watch it many more times. EXCELLENT story line and characters.

This scene is awesome. Its really tense at first. Then has a really funny conclusion.

Nix to me felt like the archetypal quiet psychotic gunslinger from old westerns.
For that reason, it’s only a shame he didn’t show up for longer. But the way his time ends was one of the moments I count as narrative and cinematic perfection.

Raylan looked unsure how to deal with this situation, until Nix told Winona to count down. Then his whole demeanor changed. You could see him thinking, "This is my kind of game now, and I know his play." Raylan's near-smile at 2:29 shows he knows how to win.

Tuco' s comment about not talking when it's time to do the deed applies to everything: "When you have to shoot, shoot; don't play games."
