Yip! Here’s a 1956 Danelectro U-2. Accept no substitutes! I used to have one of these in jade green. Folks — I mean, reissues are nice but are almost like a Fendery version of a Danelectro. The real thing… especially the ‘56 models… they’ve got the stuff.

What’s the stuff? Brown tolex on the sides, a more-sculpted side of the heel at the neck joint, those never-quite-reproduced pickups, cool plastic Dano overlay at the headstock, slighty more attention to detail… good stuff!

After a level/dress of the frets and glorified setup work it’s ready to go and playing/sounding a treat. It’s completely original except for the jack (Switchcraft) and jack plate — though the new plate is sturdy and wonderful in its own way, so fair enough.
