The crit increasing the power surge proc part doesn't work the way you think. It increases the BASE weapon power surge proc rate(35% for Socr) by 30% of it which is like 10.5% or so. So with crits you get not 65% proc chance, but 45.5% which is Far from 100%.

I run a similar build. I use 3 heavy duty, and 2 lone wolf. Thunderclap on mask, deviation expert on goggles, status amp on legs, elemental overload on gloves, found a covered advance with elemental damage on the attributes too. Been thinking of swapping lone wolf for 2 pieces of sheltered for the extra elemental damage but so far after a reload or two the power surge hits for 2.1k.

What is the difference between status dmg and elemental dmg for burn frost etc because you are using status dmg?

Why would I want to have Status DMG reduction at all?

Those buffs from stowed weapons won't stack to your SOCR buffs. Check your stats when you switch weapons.

Just a heads up it says "Based on weapon trigger chance" for the crits, so it's multiplicative from the trigger chance, which is 35%. Overall a 30% increased chance on crit means 35% x 1.30 = 45.5%. That's an overall increase of 10.5%. For overall best damage it's better to stack elemental/status damage. The only upside of crit is how useful it is for the few bosses that are immune to surge damage (Forsaken giant, last boss in EX1 silo etc). But for those, I wouldn't recommend using surge anyway, the damage literally doesn't work on them.

I use the power surge build and use the can't do weakspot but get get a huge crit rate and dmg boost. It's quite "shocking" at how well my bolts proc off. And does any one elsenot realize that shick also procs vulnerability? I noticed it when i had a bug when my back bar gear wasn't procing one day and the next day i didn't change anything but noticed after my 1st proc my gun was hitting about 5-10% harder. Which makes it a great support build as well.

The mod list you linked says that "Flame Resonance Increases the maximum Burn stacks inflicted on enemies by 2, but reduces Burn duration by 20.0%." so how come the one you linked (and all other lists) say that it is a burn mod but in your video it says its all status effects?

i run something similar but i try to use all violent mods to raise my crit dmg. i also use the gas mask to up my crit rate. i have a mayfly build as well

so im running a surge build but still messing with it and i have solo'ed some silo's on hard, i currently have 23.8% crit rate and 82.2 crit damage and all my mods have element dmg on them should i try to look for status as my status is 20% but i have 36.8% in all elements? I'll definitely give your build a try. thanks.

Why not use the mask, pants, and gloves for the shelterer set? They give you a better psi boost.

I run pure violent crit surge build. seems to do just as good as talent if not more consistent. I have never been able to get the build to out dps a crit set up when going ele focused. does around 500k a clip and in longer fights I am almost always top dmg even vs Bombers and shraps . no clue why this is but I really dont like running talents with surge.
