DIY Cedar Herb stand Video

Here is a "how to" on building this cedar herb stand. I build about 20-30 of these a year. It can be built in various depending configurations depending on what materials are available. I make them in two tier, three tier, and in 24 inch tall, 36 inch tall and 48inch tall versions. This was built from 5/4x6, 5/4x4, and a few pickets. I often swap the 5/4x6 for 2x6 cedar. At the time of this built the total cost was $102 dollars with some wood left over. I hope you enjoy.

Great looking planters! Great video! Only suggestion I would make is to use a 1/4 round router bit and soften the tops of the legs.

Just discovered your channel and I'm liking the the things you're making and the way you're filming it. I'm in England but you're ideas would be popular here too so I'm inspired to use your ideas and designs. Thanks for sharing and I hope you'll be building more.

Great video, as a woman I know I can do this because of how you explain it. That You because I am building my garden out this winter and summer, I want it to be my happy place. Will send a photo this summer 2024 for my new garden channel.

Great build. The fence looks really nice too. I would put some waterproof sealant on them and sell them for around $250. That sounds like a great deal. Thanks for the video.

Nice! I’m going to use this rough idea to make one a little more upright to go against a wall on the side of my garage. Thank you! New sub

Thank you for the video. What do you think about attaching the boxes to the legs without a shelf underneath?

Great Video. One question...Did you think about drilling some drainage holes in the bottom of each box?
I can't wait to build one for my wife...

I just accidentally found your video and I'm intrigued with your projects but I have a question. Do you drill drain holes in the herb boxes? I'm also thinking these could be built to fit plastic or even metal planting trays inside to help make the cedar last even longer. Just a thought. good job, thanks for sharing

Nice design. I think your stand is sturdy enough without the 4 horizontal pieces connecting both sides (for the boxes to rest on)

What size screws do you use? How far up the legs do you measure to put the shelves? Thank you for the video! Nice to know people don’t always expect to be paid for helping others.

Do you go back in and add drainage holes for the water? Paint with any wood preserving oil? I am in Portugal and starting some raised beds. Love your design on this herb planter.

Nice build. Just wondering if you're still able to get cedar pickets?

Great build and video! Your explanation of what you’re doing is great! I’m assuming if you’re making that many each spring that you’re selling them. If so do you mind sharing how you are getting for them?
