While i like the advice of practicing 5 minutes a day for the first two months, it does seem quite difficult to accomplish, i always end up doing like two hours without even noticing

Anyone doing these in 2021? Thank you so much Marty, I also used to think playing guitar was magic. I still think it is in a way, but you're a wonderful teacher. I'm loving learning these chords and I think that soon I'll be able to play Jane Says for my dad. Only two chords (switching back from A to G is killing me) but I know he'll be psyched over it.

Hi Marty, i'm 75 years young and now a little bit housebound from illness, had a go at playing guitar when young with a few teachers', and now with time on my hands having another go at guitar playing.I find your lessons excellent.I also was subject to the Mary had a little lamb songs from teachers so find your method simple and effective and with chords to popular songs which makes you feel like you achieve something every time you practice. Thanks so much for your EXCELLENT channel, you are helping a lot of young people (and not so young) learn to play music Thanks Marty and all the best from Australia

These videos have made learning chords the most enjoyable so far. I’ve played for years but mostly punk power chords. I’ve dabbled trying to learn songs with tabs. After watching a few of these and going back to the tabs it just clicked. Looking at the tab I recognized what chord it was and noticed they actually say what the chord is at the top of tab. Lol. These are just perfect. I can’t express that enough. Thank you infinity.

Three days into learning and I’m doing pretty good! Still having trouble with A major since I’m trying to fit three of my fingers on one fret but I’ll get it. Damn, you are a great teacher Marty! 🙏

I just got into acoustic guitar and I am this far in 3 weeks and I just wanted to say thank you so much Marty, this is really a big help. I know I was close to quitting when my chords weren’t sounding too good but I remember you saying that it won’t when you begin. So really thank you.

Played bass for 12 years, stuck with it and never moved to guitar because I didnt think that anything would transfer and I'd be starting from the beginning again. Surprised at how quickly things are coming along especially with Marty's help. One of my biggest fears was always the chords and having the dexterity in my fingers to be able to jump between them. But Marty simple explaining things, and his idea of the anchor points have taken that all away. Youre an amazing teacher and one hell of a dude for putting this online for anyone to access for free. 10/10 human, need more of you in this world. Rock on Marty. <3 <3

3 weeks in and the callouses are getting crazy!
Thanks for the lessons! The advice of "practice a few minutes every day" really helps you to avoid that discouragement of sucking at something in the beginning...grateful for the work, Marty!

Just turned 43 and picked up an acoustic for the first time in 25 years. Went from regretting for my whole life that i never learned how to play, to having fun strumming a half-dozen chords & learning more, in less than a week. These vids are a gift! Also, the Gn'R, Nirvana, Tom Petty references are right in my wheelhouse & making the process even more fun. Thanks so much dude.
