On a STINGRAY, with fresh strings, you can definitely boost bass heavily and cut treble. It’s a very bright instrument already. With new strings, I leave my treble and mids flat and boost bass a ton, and the tone is still punchy with clarity and bite. The Stingray preamp was sort of designed to be used more heavy handedly than many other instrument designs. Leo designed it to still sound sweet when players were cranking it to extremes.

Everybody talks about how great of a bassist she is, and that’s true of course but not many knows that she has a wonderful voice on top of that.
I had the chance to witness it a few month ago at one of M’s concert, and it was awesome, her voice was way deeper and way more powerful than M’s voice
Rare to see a singing duo with a man doing the high voice and the woman the deep one.

I always loved the sound of counter bass. Bands like Ned's Atomic Dustbin had two base players and one was used on very bright melodic tones, almost sounding like a mandolin. The cure used it to great effect too on Disintegration with a Fender Bass VI.
