I have a Light Phone and I like it very much. I am coming from 15 years of using iPhones and I was looking for a way to have a good, simple phone to carry day to day without all the distractions. I was happy to find that once I set aside my iPhone I was able to do quite well without it. The company has been very responsive with any issues I have had, which have not been serious. Overall my Light Phone has given me back a lot more time to do more worthwhile things than look at a screen for hours every day for no good reason.

You nailed it in the end. This kind of phone will only work as a "break" phone or you will have to change your lifestyle. The problem is our current world doesn't make this easy. Ie: my work login doesn't have all the features when i use it on the website such as entering PTO time. There is likely more examples of this. Such as some businesses may only provide accommodations for the majority of people who dont have dumb phones/light phones. My heart loves the idea very much though!!

I had absolutely no clue that it had a podcast player. That's amazing. That was one of the biggest reasons I didn't switch!

You know how many times I deleted an app only to redownload it? If its there I am going to use it (for Youtube, and Solitary)

Given the size and how little things are on it. My assumption is that the real market for this is for parents wanting their kids to have a phone without access to mind numbing social media and other distractions. Go out, have fun, be safe, be accessible.

I am tempted to use this. For those who complain that you can't work on it.... get a laptop!! It's not that hard!

Why not make the phone half an inch to an inch longer for better battery life and a more comfortable keyboard. Also I don’t think a camera would hurt. It’s not like you’d be taking pics for IG or something but having a camera is a nice minimal feature

I like the idea but I just don't understand it. If you want a phone without the distractions of social media, why not get a Nokia 105 feature phone or alternative? It's £15, with a 7 day battery life and does calls, texts and not much else - just like this phone. Why would anyone spend $200+ on a device that does the same but with a poorer experience and a battery that lasts not much more than a day?

the blck and white screen is an astonishing design choice, regarding battery life, costs, bu aesthetics also. neat feature.

Good review! I'd wanted you to dive deep into the tools. The Light Phone has GPS/Directions, Music, Podcasts, and Calculator that can help people transition to a simpler lifestyle and still keep some conveniences. Either way, thanks for making people aware of the LP2 and its value!

Bought mine today for $220 bux, very good deal phone was opened and tested once so I saved myself quite a bit of money. Owned the light phone 2 before but my addiction was so bad I could not stick with it. But I am committed to using this phone to be a more present person. Tired of being a mindless zombie

Having a phone like this in Norway would be a huge disadvantage, I believe the same is true for the whole of Scandinavia. We need banking apps to pay for a lot of stuff, like parking, coffee etc in fleemarkets and a bunch of other places.. Amusement parks also have their own apps for paying, with no optional payment solutions(not even cash, which is technically mandatory by law in norway), that turned out to be a rough weekend when i lossed my phone the day before going to Kristiansand dyrepark.. I'm not an advocate for the way we set up our society in Norway in terms of payment. We need a variety of payment options, including cash. Also many gyms only have phone verification (android or IOS) to enter gym.
What I'm saying is this phone would limit life in many ways, I LOVE the idea of it, but Litephone is definitely not the way to go in Norway!!!

Good Video, straight to point with an awesome host!

I'm sure some company out there can produce a phone that doesn't take all the comforts of productivity out. I'm concerned about navigation(maybe with vocal instructions) and e-wallet. If they can make the light phone do that as well, I'm sold.

Thanks for the video. Well done. My intention is to use it as a subsidiary phone and begin to practice not needing most of features other than the camera. :-)

One of the things about the lights on it was quite disturbing was how high the EMF levels were. I’m not quite sure why that needs to be but it was 2 to 3 times high as my iPhone 11. So I always encourage people to never hold the phone to their head… Keep the phone away from their body as much as possible when it’s being used or even when it’s off. Turning it off and putting it in a EMF protective case or bag is Always a good idea…

I don't have social media. I use an old Nokia phone with an ancient android. Still can use YT and comment on my favourite creators while I sit in my car and sip some lovely Costa coffee. Cheers!

Great review. I really LOVE the idea of this phone but it's just a little bit too minimum for me. The battery life isn't good enough for so few features, USB-C feels like a must, it NEEDS a camera, and honestly I'd like to have email because some of my older family members only use email and won't text. I would buy it in a heartbeat if it had a version like that. I guess I just want a little more of a medium

Insanely overpriced that doesn’t even do what it advertises well. Buyers remorse is real with this one

I’d love to use this along with my iPad mini. I can still be connected while doing all the “smart” stuffs from emails to routings with my iPad, only when I can be bothered to do so. Now if only it could type other, non-Latin languages…

Damn expensive for a secondary phone.

Also would have expected a much better battery life.
