This is why I enjoy working remote. The commute is unnecessary and extremely stressful.

These are no-brainers yet way too many people are not 100% behind working remotely. Ken, you had the financial option to choose a home with a short commute to work. Most of us don't have that option. If you bought a home for $200K and you been living there 5 years, you can't up and move close to your new job that has $500K houses all around it.

This is one of the MANY reasons why I am a Champion for people working from home. You can't move on a dime and many times you can't afford to move close to a job that you don't know will work out.

So... why is remote work a bad thing if commutes can be detrimental to your health?

Why do I have to go to the office for Zoom and MS Teams meetings if I can just do that at home?!

There’s a third solution Ken: Remote work. But obviously you were not going to mention it.

I’m an Exterminator in the USA and work for a company that only serves commercial clients. They pay for all the training I want. I’m licensed in multiple states (all paid for by them). They supply, maintain and fuel my vehicle, 401k, ESSP, pension, tuition reimbursement. I have a lot of control over my pay check and a very fair amount of flexibility in my schedule. Plus I enjoy what I’m doing and oh I’m on the clock from the moment I leave home until the moment I get back home. I have stop work authority if I feel it is unsafe (bad weather, etc)………..oh yeah and I make over 6 figures……so glad I got into this field

Didn't you just post a video saying remote work is bad? Pick one...

I moved next door to my job this year. Best decision I made all year.

My commute is 4 to 5 hours depending on weather and traffic, one state to another... My music, sermons and phone calls help with the stress and monotony. It still kills my body.

I grew up with parents who commuted 1hr to-and-from work, and I've followed a similar pattern. It has become my "normal", and it has truly broadened my career options being centralized to numerous cities. Also the inconsistent scaling of housing costs living near or far from work make it worth it. 👍

Just like Dave is against "forever homes", can't rely on "forever employers". 😉

I read a comment somewhere that said that employers don’t pay enough for the cost of living in the same city as the office and they export that cost onto you in the form of a commute. I know some people drive 2 hours or more each way to work in Seattle.

I love how differently time works in the middle of the country. I swear you all have 48 hour days. You think nothing of taking 12 hour road trips, then helping your neighbor mow their lawn, then baking a lasagna for your elderly friend, then heading off to the high school football game. And you still have time to watch tv. I don't even want to drive 30 minutes anywhere.

Ken I, and anyone else watching this video, is confused AF. You have put out countless videos calling people who do remote work losers, lazy, unproductive, the list goes on and on and on. Now you are putting out a video saying commuting to the office is bad. Do you see how you are contradicting yourself? Which is it? Is remote work bad or in office work bad? I am confused as is pretty much everyone else who watches your stuff. Or did you eat some bad chips and queso and you're a little backed up? Please advise.

Learn to unplug during your drive, leave early, enjoy the time unplugged

It’s financially worth it for most families to move closer to work and switch to bike/walk/metro in order to go from a two car family to a one car family.

E-bikes really changed the game, too. You don’t even need to move right next to work, you just have to be within 3-5 miles and you can still be where you need to be within 15 min. If you live in a city then e-biking during rush hour is actually significantly faster than driving.

Get some pumping tunes, audiobooks and you’re golden. But more than 30 min commute would be bad for me

So Keni gets cranky after 4 hours.
Guess he videos after 5 hours.

Reasonably dense walkable and bikable cities with jobs and services nearby and good public transit for those that are not, basically the opposite of lot of US cities.

Also working from home for those jobs where that is easily possible, though if my memory serves me right Ramsey show people are not very pro wfh. Here's just one more reason that is bad.

I commute just over an hour to work. I’m glad to have a job where I’m on the road so my commute is every other day. I think it’s worth it because I don’t think I could live in the city without losing my marbles 😂
