The iPhone is cultural, this isn't just "tech"

Never the idea, but implementation

What sets the phone apart isn’t what it looks like as much as what it’s running - software, stupid. Services, stupid. You think iPhone would be huge without the App Store / devs?! The notch is the wrong kind of differentiator.

A full screen phone that doesn’t utilize the full screen. It’s not true edge to edge. A ton of wasted screen.

The problem with Apple is Tim Cook. He is not as relentless for perfection as Steve Jobs was. Steve motivated and inspired his people to deliver the best. I think where Cook says "ok that's good enough", Jobs would have said: "that's a piece of crap! YOU CAN DO BETTER!!" That's the difference between the Steve Jobs Apple and the Tim Cook Apple.

The notch is such a pointless design flaw. It's less than half the size of the old bezel, they should have just stretched it across the whole screen, it would still have been a remarkably small bezel.

I have an Iphone(6s), ipad, Macbook pro and I used to admire and respect Apple.That was then. Now Apple has gone over the edge with their ego. The cropped out screen is ANNOYING. the lack of a headphone jack is DISRESPECTFUL to the clients, denying an option everyone offers. And they present all of this as an "advantage" or "the future" to their hypnotised/brainwashed fan base. DISAPPOINTED.

the home button could have easily been 3D Touch on the "home bar" area. However, I feel like most of their misguided decisions have to do with trying to differentiate from other products..

I moved away from iPhone for a couple of reasons. First being I was always having the same hardware issues in all of my iPhone's that I had (I owned 3 of them.. each had 3 year or 2 year contract terms). Second being that each time I "upgraded" to a new iPhone, it felt like I didn't upgrade. It was the same Phone. Same apps. Same UI. Same everything. Might have been faster and clearer.. but it got boring quick. Once I switched to Samsung, it was so nice to see and use something different. It would have to be something huge to get me to switch back to iPhone. Also the fact that iPhone is always a year behind everything else is a joke as well. ... ooh iPhone has wireless charging now. So does my 1 1/2 year old Samsung S7...

I just switched to galaxy s8 at $450. Have been with iphone since original 2g. Just got tired of apple's stupid ui decisions and also pricing. There is no reason iPhone x should exist. It should have been iphone 8 at $650 with all those new features.

I followed you on my purchase of the 8 plus. I’m buying for what it is. I was gonna get the 10 until I realized the screen wasn’t ever going to be a “full screen experience” where the 8 plus you get the full screen

I personally got the iPhone 8 because I saw the UX and UI issues from introduction of the iPhoneX. It's the same problems seen when Window8 was introduced.

If you ask me it's a sign of the times Apple does not have Steve anymore so they are throwing things against the wall to see if they stick in other words they have no idea what they are doing anymore. But the fans have not caught up to that yet, IMHO.

Apple could have easily, been inspired with the s8 and make a full screen display. Instead they innovated and made a disaster with the iPhone 10.
