The Largest Volcano Of ALL TIME Just Cracked Open The Earth!

Beneath the calm waters of Lake Toba on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, a massive supervolcano is lurking. This geological monster is one of only a handful of volcanoes capable of producing a super-eruption that could catastrophically change the global climate system for decades. So how can we predict the next supervolcano eruption? This is a map of Indonesia. Officially the republic of Indonesia. A country in Southeast Asia and Oceania between the Indian and Pacific oceans. Indonesia consists of over 17 thousand islands, including Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, parts of Borneo and New Guinea. Sumatra is the thir d largest island of indonesia and in the northern Disctrict North Sumatra is Lake Toba located, a large natural lake occupying the caldera of a supervolcano. Possibly the Greatest Volcano on Earth.Besides this supervulcano, the whole geography of Indonesia is dominated by volcanoes that are formed due to subduction zones between the Eurasian plate and the Indo-Australian plate. Some of the volcanoes are notable for their eruptions, for instance, the massive volcano Krakatoa for its global effects in 1883, the Lake Tob a Caldera volcano for its supervolcanic eruption estimated to have occurred 74,000 years before present, which was responsible for six years of volcanic winter, and volcano Mount Tambora for the most violent eruption in recorded history in 1815.

An Indonesian volcano exploded it 536 CE and caused worldwide cooling and crop failures for over a decade. It was recorded by the Chinese and Romans.

This is what causes Indonesia's soil to be so fertile, abundant fish, species diversity and rich in minerals. Respect to the ancestors who have dared to occupy this land in difficult times, may their descendants manage this heavenly land wisely.

I visited Lake Toba in 1971. It's a gorgeous place, so peaceful it's easy to forget the destruction that once visited that area.

Lol fascinating that some people blasted him for spelling krakatoa "wrong" while in the truth hes using the correct name given by the locals, it's KRAA-KAA-TAW. 1:03 he's correct.

I agree when the smaller volcanoes stop erupting it's time to worry about the big ones

Between the two for the question; It is my opinion that Toba is more of a world threat. Yellowstone is a hazard but I don't believe it will have as large of a world impact as Toba. Thank you for the video. I really liked that both measurements, metric and imperial, were used.

Didn't see any mention of Taupo, just seeing the lake on the map just shows how massive this eruption was. There are still earthquakes under the lake, just small one's and the lake floor does rise and drop. It is still very much alive. An eruption of the size from the past in today's world would be such a devastating event. Glad it is monitored so hopefully there should be plenty of warning

Krakatoa erupted in 535 AD that was even more powerful than 1883

Attacked and colonized by 7 powerful countries, live with natural disasters. But they were able to live together strongly until now. This is why Indonesians can live in any country. Their level of fear is actually very high, but because they often feel natural disasters that make them normal. Don't say strong if you don't live in Indonesia.

I suspect as long as smaller volcanoes keep blowing, this will relieve the pressure that's needed to trigger the larger super volcanoes in the vicinity.

Based on the size and the information from the video that stated that volcanic activity was occurring silently beneath the surface. I would say that there is no way to determine which super volcano is more dangerous. I would say that given the long dormancy of the super volcano in Yellowstone and the information from this video, I would be very concerned about any upcoming volcano from Yellowstone.

I live in the same province of Toba Lake.
That place is so beautiful that if you see it directly it feels like a CG.
Obviously no volcano on sight and you wont even think that it was made because of an eruption of volcano.
