2:00 : NO you cannot reduce the opacity of these specific LUTs. They are hybrid LUTs, meaning they contain both a creative look and a technical transform (to Rec709 or DCI P3 depending on which you pick). Reducing the opacity of the LUT will result on incorrect behavior because, yes you're indeed reducing the strength of the creative look BUT ALSO the rec709 transform. They is currently no way to seperate these two components from the Film Look legacy LUTs from Resolve. Plus, this LUT is expecting Cineon Log as a tone curve so a workaround would be to place a CST before the LUT and set it to Rec709 (colorspace) and Cineon Film Log (gamma). Common misconception so I thought I would clarify that - I'd recommend Cullen Kelly's channel for more in depth explanations :) And if the look embedded in the LUT is still too strong, you can adjust contrast and color using a node prior to the LUT.

I've been playing around for years to get good cinematic T/O colours but it was driving me crazy, I paid for this and it was like magic, instant looks I wanted for years, with minimal clicks and adjustments! Thank you also for this video!

Great techniques. What about when the DP has specifically lit with both warm and cool color temperatures? How does a colorist approach that footage?

I just intuitively, knowing nothing about cinema color grading, made my latest video with saturated teal and orange colors and unbelievably the video took over in views in two days against my all others. I am bewildered. You can't just blindly stick with the same color scheme all the way.

I own Cinemagrade. Do additional LUT packs like Teal and Orange download with updates or do I need to be checking back periodically to see what you have developed?

This is so interesting and I'm learning a lot. Thank you so much.

I actually have cinema grade, but haven´t used it a lot. It seems I have misplaced (or deleted) the tutorials. Is there anyway I can find them on the net?

Hi Denver, wicked tutorial. Quick question…I’m using Final Cut Pro and am mixing video with photos and am wondering if cinema grade will work on both, or just footage?
