The most interesting hypotheses are the ones that describe a causal relationship. But how do we identify a causal relationship? In this video you learn about the four essential criteria for identifying a causal relationship: cause and effect are connected, cause precedes effect, cause and effect covary consistently and no alternative explanations. An important take-away here is that correlation does not imply causation.
