FOUND HUMAN REMAINS while Fossil Hunting for Great White Shark Teeth (Police Called)

While shark tooth hunting and artifact collecting in North Carolina we discovered a human skull and other human remains. Local law enforcement was involved and a forensic anthropologist was able to date the school as being historical, possibly Civil War Era. We did also manage to find Great White Shark Teeth and even a Megalodon Shark Tooth (Not Shown). But finding a human skull was the most memorable artifact that we have ever found. We hope to get up to NC again to hunt for more fossil shark teeth and do some serious arrowhead hunting and fossil collecting. The skull will likely be used as an educational tool in forensic anthropology.

Through exploring, Fossil hunting, and artifact hunting, we can make a physical connection to the history around us. We are passionate about that connection and want to share it with others. If you value this content, consider supporting us on Patreon so we can help others “dig science.”

We plan on hunting for a diversity of fossils all throughout the US this year with other fossil hunters such as Paleocris, Wildkyle, Everdayimshoveling, Ancient Artworks, Shark Teeth and Fossils and Bone Valley Collections. We hope to find beautiful Megalodon teeth, gems and minerals, great white shark teeth, artifacts, arrowheads, and megafauna creatures like mammoths and mastodons. We will also include videos on how to fossil hunt in Florida and explore discussions on some of our favorite topics in paleontology, archeology, and geology!

We wanted to thank the officers and detectives that responded to our call for their professionalism and kindness. Since the skull has no forensic significance, it will likely be used as an educational tool at one of the local universities. As always, stay tuned for more crazy adventures.

Those are the bones of a human being... who laughed, cried, had a name, played, loved... wow.. somewhere in time, all those memories remain.

When I'm close to death I'm going to go hike deep into the wilderness so maybe one day hundreds or thousands of years from now I can creep someone out >:)

I also hunt NC rivers and creeks and I swear it feels like only a matter of time until I find a body, it gives me the creeps.

Appreciate the professionalism in treating the remains with dignity. Always possible it could be remains of some of the first humans to call this land home. Proud of your dignity.

Im German, and when we did digging for our pool site in our Garden back in 2018, we found 3 Skeletons, buried together 2 smaller ones and 1 taller one. Sadly i dont know more of it at the time of writing the comment, but those were no members of a cold case or something, there also was old jewelry buried with them, our house isnt that old, and this used to be just a grass field before we build it, so id figure myself the remains are way way older than me. Our village has been here for a long time!

My favorite part is how he apologizes to the turtle and leaves it alone instead of picking it up and disturbing it.🙏 I've seen so many videos of people picking them up and poking at them, then just toss them into the water carelessly. 😔

Gave you a like. First video of yours I've seen but wanted to let you know that I appreciated that you treated both the turtle with respect and especially the immediate recognition and respect you gave the jaw and skull.

Tremendous amount of respect for the amount of decorum you and Your friends showed. Very interesting on how this was treated because in different parts of the states a discovery like this could be a massive affair and treated like a crime scene. Well done guys
