What If You Lived in the Jurassic Period?

252 million years ago, ancient life on Earth suffered a serious blow from a deadly combination of heat and low oxygen.

95% of all marine species perished, and two-thirds of terrestrial species vanished. It was a cataclysm so severe that it looked like the end of all life on planet Earth.

But as the saying goes, life finds a way, and the most well-known prehistoric creatures would rise on Earth - The Dinosaurs.

If you love dinosaurs, then get ready to see your favorites, how they evolved, and how they would rule the Earth for millions of years.

We are on social media:

It totally blows my mind that there are countless species that have lived and thrived that we'll never know to have existed. Fossils are so rare and conditions have to be just right for us to study...even the fossils we have found still give us little insight to their lives and the planet at that specific time.

Just imagine, dinosaurs were around so long that towards the end of their existence, there had already been dinosaur fossils that were millions of years old!!

If an alien use a large telescope from 200+million light years away, they would probably see the dinosaurs from the past.

Its so depressing to think of all the cool animals we never get to experience

But they never answered the question "What If You Lived in the Jurassic Period?"

Apparently, according to the size comparisons, humans must be at least 20 ft tall. 3:54

Unsure where you got your information from but Scotty T. Rex holotype in Canada is projected to have weighed 19, 500 pounds and it was only 28 years old. Giganotosaurus did not have the 'same build' @8:54 simply because it was a therapod, in fact it was much more lithe and had significantly less body volume than a Trex (the true size of giganotosaurus is very hard to guage because we have very few holotypes, with the most complete at 70% just giving us a snapshot of the animal's frame and size. It is widely academically agreed that it's weight and size was at first severely over-estimated because there is a childish fascination with paleontologists in finding the largest terrestrial predator that ever lived (so they often make sh*t up). Considering it was slimmer of frame with significantly less volume than T-rex, we can infer it was a more accomplished runner and thus *weighed significantly less* putting its weight at around 10, 000 to 15, 000 pounds. Spinosaurus, which has since been proved to be quadrupedal since the 2014 kem kem bed discovery by Nizar Ibrahim in Africa, was a potential weight contender, with estimates topping out at around 20, 000 pounds (formerly 30, 000 but since corrected). I am sure older, more venerable animals of these species achieved larger weights (as crocodiles can live in excess of 80+ years and never stop growing). Much of the 'information' in this video is incorrect.

Most Excellent! Great unification of the narrative and the video itself. The display of the human on the video next to the dinosaur was especially gratifying for me, giving a true perspective of the size of the magnificent creatures.

The model he uses for the giganotosaurous is from the video game called Ark survival evolved. In ark the giga is 2.5x the size of the rex which is obviously inaccurate, but it's still cool.

Stegosaurus did not go extinct in the late cretaceous period.
There is more time separating Stegosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex than Tyrannosaurus Rex and us.
