PlayStation 4 in 2023 - An Homage

What you can expect from the PS4 in 2022, going 2023...

The list of phenomenal games for the Playstation 4 goes on and on, and it’s actually expanding with games like God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Spiderman Miles Morales, etc.

If you can’t afford a Playstation 5, or you technically can but you just feel like you wouldn’t be able to justify the purchase, and you just so happen to have a PS4 lying around… you can still take advantage of that.

Because, what a number of Sony-funded studios are currently doing not only demonstrates the generational leap that the Playstation 5 has made possible, it also shows just how amazing the Playstation 4 was, and continues to be.

I'm in the same boat. Got a PS4 in 2018 for games like Spider-Man and God of War. It was my first PlayStation AND my first console in general.
Still using it as my primary gaming device. And with how overpriced PS5s are in my country with how little I'm interested in PS5 games, I think I'll rock my PS4 for a little while longer.

Incredibly insightful and underrated video, earned a subscriber. You couldn’t of been more spot on with seeing friends and influencers getting a PS5, and thinking you need one - only to put yourself in a comparison trap. Amen to this video, I was looking at PS5 and then the realisation hit me that all the new games I was seeing, Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7, GOW Ragnarok, Stray are all games I can get on my PS4 slim and they run amazingly. I love my PS4 and am happy to wait until the inevitable price drop of the PS5. To me currently, extra framerate and a bit sharper graphics isn't worth £500.

I took a break from gaming and now I’m back on track with my life. The first thing I did was buy a PS4 Slim and bought God of War Ragnarok, GTAV, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Detroit:Become Human. I bought a ps4 late in the gane because I'm a Hitman fan and got tired of upgrading my gaming pc because of gpu card prices not going down every year, and that says alot for working class people who like to play their favorite game. Ps5 prices in my country aren't going to lower anytime soon, and I still have some back catalogue games that i like to buy for my ps4, at which case there are still alot of physical copies available in gaming stores here where I come from. I'll buy a ps5 who knows, probably when it's 5 years old and becomes cheaper like I did with the ps4. Anyway Nice vid man. The PS4 is so good and reached its absolute PEAK of value in the middle of its 8th year of its life with the introduction of PS plus premium. That shouldnt happen and it begs the question... Do I even need a PS5?

I just bought a second hand PS4 from a local deal. And I am still chasing up on the games. I just play on Normal difficulty so that I can enjoy the pace. This Video proves I was right in choosing a PS4. I can afford a PS5. But then, F*** it, a PS4 can keep me playing for hours and still gives me the satisfaction of a 10 year old soul of me. Started with a PS1 and then a second hand ps2. Missed the PS3, but now I'm back on track. Btw, Valkyrie profile still holds a special spot in my heart even until now. ❤

This vid is actually very emotional, congrats. I got a PS4slim in 2019 for God of War. Honestly, this console and the amazing game library kept me mentally sane during the pandemic, which is priceless. I got a PS5 3 weeks ago and I’m happy with it, but the PS4 will always hold a special place in my heart. Selling it on Tuesday, I became nostalgic, hence I came across this video. Thank you!

Nice video. I bought PS4 slim in October 2023 and I'm really happy with it 🙂 games are cheap between 5 and 15€, there are digital sales, and the catalogue of this console is just great, for years to explore 🙂 i cleaned it, changed tge thermal paste and it runs like a champ 🙂

The timing of this video is so strange because today was the first day that I was able to just walk into a store, see a bunch of PS5s on the shelves and just buy one, but I will wholeheartedly say that I got some serious mileage out of my PS4, and the majority of the games that I have still yet to experience are on the PS4 platform, I'm just working through a backlog because I don't have the time I used to when I was young.

I picked up my PS4 sometime back in 2015 when Fallout 4 came out, I was fortunately given a week off work, and I had also managed to finish all my university exams so it was rare to have time to myself, and I desperately needed to build a new gaming PC at the time, but the PS4 was something I could just pick up there and then on the Friday night and take home for the weekend, and play through the whole week and that's exactly what I did and that time was just awesome.

This video hits the head of the nail for me. I can afford one, but don't have the time to game like I used to. I can't justify paying the price for it to collect dust. I still use my ps4 and my ps3. I absolutely love my ps3 still. There's still gaming communities online, the game library is huge, it's the last gen before stupid micro transactions, and the graphics are still great on some later games! Yes the ps4, ps5 are better but there's something about the PS3 that I find just epic.
