Despite the fact that it wasn't released as a single or how it didn't surpass Morrison Hotel's more popular songs, "Peace Frog" and "Roadhouse Blues" in significance, "Waiting For the Sun" is considered one of the Doors' best songs for its haunting composition and lyrics, with mostly positive reviews from critics.
