Vedas are not the compilations of only Religious things, they encompass almost all sorts of KNOWLEDGE like Maths, Geology, Geometry, Science etc. They also encompass so many other things which makes them vast and covering almost everything the Universe may have. Therefore do not call them Complex.

Vedas are not hindus' holy book. Rather they are based on knowledge systems that inculcate our religion. There are two major holy books oh the Hindus. These are Shri Ramcharitmaanas (Ramayan) and Shrimad Bhagvadgita (Gita).

btw, Vedas is not a single book. There are four vedas- Yajurveda, Saamveda, Atharvaveda, Rigveda.
