I am a Kashmiri Pandit and my mother personally knows Achint and his family. She also immediately called her friend (Achint's sister) as soon as she saw this. The acount that Achint has given is NOTHING compared to how horrifyingly his father was assassinated. He was tortured the entire night (with cigarette butts etc.), his house was surrounded by Islamic terrorists and his father was later found in a dry well the next day. He was so young when this happened and my mother recalled everything as soon as she heard what I was watching!

I am absolutely shattered by how some people did not let him talk about his viewpoints. This Middle Ground video represents the political situation of the country very well nowadays and how absolutely DIFFICULT it has become to express viewpoints and even state facts.

At the same time, I am nothing but PROUD of Achint and the way he spoke. He was an absolute gentleman, so soft spoken and my heart cries for him because he was surrounded with such insensitive people. THIS IS EXACTLY what infuriates Kashmiri Pandits in this country. I am glad we still take our space, even though exactly like some people here would not want us to do that.

as a Muslim myself, the way Ali approached some of the questions with a lack of empathy was so disappointing especially after Kabir was acknowledging Achint's loss. Being sorry for someone's loss does not mean they're taking responsibility, just showing respect

If Achint had been a Muslim and his family were the victims of the assassination, would Ali still have said “it’s not my problem!”? We are so used to wanting to see one community as being victimised that when perpetrators come from that community we lose all balance and objectivity. I lost interest in this discussion when Achint’s lived experiences were completely dismissed and turned into something else and diverted by attention seeking Pallavi

This is the reality. You woukd never find a muslim favouring a hindu but can definitely find a hindu favouring islam..that is pallavi for you all

The way they were dealing with that man’s trauma makes me real mad as a Black person. What if a white person did that to them about racism? They’d be mad pressed, it makes my blood boil.

“None of my business. Not my problem.”
The most insensitive thing a person can say sitting in front of a victim.
Achint, no words for you loss. You and your family is a victim of hatred of Kashmiri muslims on Kashmiri Hindus. This shouldn’t have happened. It is the combined hatred of one community on another that made this happen, it is not one person’s doing.

Honestly Achint and Kabir are the only two people who are actually having a proper conversation. The others speak irl as if they were on twitter

The way they sidelined achint's trauma is so sad.

Achint is the only person who has suffered due to this hindu-msulim rivalry. Achint is the only person who was talked over most of the time. That's a great reflection of how we're dealing with this problem.

I love the moment when Kabir explains Chinmay's point in a better way and Chinmay goes " This guy understands me so well. " Isn't that all which matters concerning the current scenario ?

Pallavi is a politician....why they have called a politician??

It's absolutely disgusting of Jubilee to include Pallavi on the programme because she is Pallavi Sharma, an Indian National Congress spokesperson. It is highly inappropriate to include politicians on a discussion between people who are supposed to be laymen.

inviting a politician to talk about political issue, sums up the credibility of this channel

I am impressed with Achint's patience and Kabir's patience. Especially Achint considering his past.

Zaarah is right about it being easy to talk about these issues in a safe space like this with a group of seemingly upper class well educated lot. Doing so in the real world is more complicated.
