Tips in the Description!

If your child is making lots of seemingly random noises, they're likely seeking out sensory input to feel regulated!
.
They might be seeking out auditory input, or they might be seeking out proprioceptive input in the form of the vibrations made when making noises!
Or it could be both!
.
Try these three tips and see if it helps meet their sensory needs a little bit easier:
1. Add oral motor activities into the play routine. This can include different types of crunchy snacks, blowing items through a straw to a target or blowing bubble mountain, or using sour spray. This can help meet oral motor sensory needs!
2. Provide full body proprioceptive input. This means things like animal walks, jumping and crashing, climbing, etc. Anything that works the muscles in the entire body - this can provide regulating sensory input to the entire body!
3. Use music to dance, sing, or hum along to. You can use a specific therapeutic listening program or pick out music that your child seems to enjoy. Use music as a way to regulate the nervous system by playing music at different times during the day!
